  1. Aus 25-0published at 3 overs

This tournament is packed with teenagers - 19-year-old left-arm spinner Nahida Akter to bowl, though she's a comparative veteran with 40 T20 international appearances under her belt. Keeper Nigar Sultana Joty is playing her 50th today at the ripe old age of 22.

Nahida skips between the umpire and the stumps in her run-up and it's a tidy over until Mooney used her feet well to flog a four through the off side. A single takes her to eight.

Bangladesh really aren't bowling to their fields much so far.

Australia have made a fantastic start, especially considering the starts they've got off to in the World Cup so far. So this will really settle the batting line-up.

  3. Aus 20-1published at 2 overs

    Healy 17 (9 balls), Mooney 3 (3)

After 16 runs purely in boundaries, Healy adds a single to her score.

I don't think Australia need to hit boundaries to force any field changes, Bangladesh are making changes every 30 seconds.

  5. Aus 19-0published at 1.4 overs

Salma keeps swapping over her fielders between deliveries (changing personnel but keeping the same field setting, if you get my drift). At this rate, she's going to be tinkering her way into a slow over-rate fine. A single brings the right-handed Healy on strike - which, of course, brings more field changes. But Healy is only dealing in boundaries, cracking her fourth four through the covers.

Beth Mooney is such a strong sweeper of the ball. But England have often had her caught out at cow corner, so I would never bowl to her without a deep mid-wicket.

  7. Aus 14-0published at 1.1 overs

Captain Salma Khatun to bowl the second over - bowling off-spin (check), in a cap (check), and sunglasses (check).

Left-hander Beth Mooney joins in the fun, guiding Salma's first ball for two square of the wicket.

I'm just a little bit mind blown by those Bangladesh tactics. You're going to be bowling fourth/fifth stump, how are you going to get her out?

  9. Aus 12-0published at 1 over

A third point fielder is brought in, thankfully for Bangladesh the over ends without any more capital punishment from the Aussies.

You've got point and backward point basically holding hands but Healy still got it through.

  11. Aus 12-0published at 0.5 overs

Short and wide again, but Healy finds the smallest of gaps between point and backward point for her third four. They were nearly close enough to hold hands, but Healy found the gap.

I'm just not sure this field is very effective in T20s as you are not attacking the stumps, so your chances of wickets are limited. You are basically bowling for a caught behind.

  13. Aus 8-0published at 0.3 overs

Healy cuts hard, the cover sweeper dives but it's four more... Is this really the best field to start with, when Healy will flay anything outside off stump (seven fielders or not)?

  14. Aus 4-0published at 0.1 overs

Right-arm seamer Jahanara Alam (complete with green headband) to bowl for Bangladesh - she starts with a 7-2 off-side field, but Healy beats all seven of those fielders with a firm drive through the covers off the first ball.

I'm interested to see how Bangladesh start, I would start with spin against these two, especially with these big boundaries.

This Australia batting line-up goes on and on but we haven't seen it fire yet, so I'm hoping for a cracker.

Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy stride out for Australia. There's a lot of green out on the field today when you consider their kit as well as Bangladesh's.

I think Australia will want to get around the 150 mark, at least. They really need to establish themselves and go big in this game so they enter the second phase of this tournament with wind in their sails.

I'd be disappointed if Australia get below 160. We could see them go big, and get the first 180-190 of the competition.

"Advance Australia Fair" booms out around Canberra's Manuka Oval.

The game is in the Aussie capital, lest we forget, so you can write your own punchlines about capital punishment, capital gains and the like...
