It's shaping up to be a superb semi-finals. We're going to get the best four in the world, whoever qualifies out of these two.

  3. Aus 82-2published at 11 overs

    Mooney 38, Gardner 13

Kasperek's over is spoiled by Ash Gardner as the right-hander smashes one back over the bowler's head for four. Australia are really taking advantage of this good pitch.

Three dots balls in a row is seen as a mini win in T20 cricket, and builds up pressure.

  5. Aus 77-2published at 10.3 overs

Leigh Kasperek is back for the first time since bowling the first over. She begins with three dots. Tidy.

Here's how Anna Peterson claimed the important wicket of Aussie captain Meg Lanning.

  7. Aus 77-2published at 10 overs

    Mooney 37, Gardner 8

We're at the halfway stage. 150 is on for Australia.

  8. 6 runs

    Aus 74-2published at 9.2 overs

Make that 35 from 26 balls. Beth Mooney hits a beautiful lofted drive off the spin of Peterson for her second six over extra cover. So good.

  9. Postpublished at 04:40 Greenwich Mean Time 2 March 2020

Beth Mooney is scoring at a decent rate. She has 29 from 24 balls.

  10. Aus 65-2published at 9 overs

    Mooney 29, Gardner 7

Ash Gardner is away now with a lovely guide through the covers for four. New Zealand have claimed two guide early wickets but if Healy or Lanning don't get you then one of the others in the Aussie top order probably will. They have so much depth.

  11. 6 runs

    Aus 60-2published at 8.2 overs

Beth Mooney has quietly gone about her business throughout all of this but with Lanning gone she takes on the attack.

This is a lovely hit, clearly the rope for the first time in the innings.

We won't see any more of this from Meg Lanning today. She had looked really good.

  13. Aus 53-2published at 8 overs

    Mooney 21, Gardner 1

Four runs off the first two balls of Peterson's over. One run and a wicket from the last four.

Ash Gardner is the new batter.

Australia probably spoke about Anna Peterson as the bowler to go after and Meg went for one shot too many after back-to-back boundaries. It's disappointing because Meg looked in good form and we thought we might see a masterclass from her today.

    Lanning c Tahuhu b Peterson 21 (Aus 52-2)

The perfect response from Peterson! She hits back after being hit for those two boundaries by claiming the massive wicket of Meg Lanning.

Lanning is on the sweep but top-edges the ball to short fine leg.

The Aussie skipper is furious, screaming at herself when she leaves the middle.

  16. Aus 52-1published at 7.2 overs

Lanning is on the charge, quite literally. She comes racing down the pitch and hoists Peterson for four more.

Meg looks to have a determination about herself today. She's showing no fear and is going to take it to New Zealand in this do or die match.

  18. Aus 48-1published at 7.1 overs

Yet another bowling change from New Zealand. Here's Anna Peterson...

And the off-spinner begins too short. Lanning is right on it and cuts through the off side to the boundary.

Australia will be happy with this start, the key being they haven't lost too many wickets. They've got a good platform to launch from.

  20. Aus 44-1published at 7 overs

Six balls, six singles. Good rotation of the strike from Australia. We saw how allowing too many dot balls cost West Indies against England yesterday.
