    Pope 10, Bess 3

I say Bess has helped calm things down but he's fortunate to still be out there.

He was dropped earlier and now Shannon Gabriel causes problems in a lively first over.

You've got to say for a player in his eighth Test, Ollie Pope manages to make you feel calm.

He gives Joseph a cheeky smile after a block.

England will feel they're still in this game. West Indies can have batting collapses and the pitch is such that you're never really in.

Away from the pressure of the Test, there are some amazing shots of club cricketers back in action across England today. It just warms your heard doesn't it?

I don't know about comfortable but 200 is get-able. West Indies are clearly confident.

I can't help but feel this is going to go right to the wire tomorrow.

It would be a great way for cricket to return after the lockdown.

I shouted over the balcony to Kraigg Brathwaite. He reckons the wicket is still good, anything under 200 is comfortable enough.

  10. Eng 273-6published at 97.4 overs

England needed this from Ollie Pope just to release the pressure that has been piling onto them in the last half an hour.

Pope pulls Holder to the square-leg boundary.

Zak Crawley was very impressive earlier before he became one of the three quick wickets to fall...

That was a lively over from Alzarri Joseph. He could have had Bess out twice.

That is where DRS is good because fair credit to the umpire, the way it looks you can't really give that out. The technology says it is only just clipping the stumps.

  14. Not outpublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 11 July 2020

Dom Bess breathes a big sigh of relief. It looked a really good shout after the first replay but the ball-tracking has it just clipping leg stump.

Umpire's call. That means the on-field decision of not out stands.

It didn't look far away, a bit leg side maybe. Not a bad shout at all.

And now a review a ball later.

    It's Bess lbw.

West Indies' were pleading with their appeal. They send it upstairs.

It was a difficult one for a keeper but he should have done a lot better.

  18. dropped catch

Bess dropped on 1published at 96.4 overs

A chance goes down from West Indies.

Alzarri Joseph, bowling a spell to remember, finds Dom Bess' edge. Keeper Shane Dowrich gets one hand to the low catch but it hits his wrist and falls to turf.

  19. Eng 267-6published at 96 overs

There's an awful lot of pressure on two 22-year-olds who wouldn't look out of place in the latest fresh-faced boy band.

England need an innings from both of them.

Bess takes one on the bicep from Holder. Good battle.

I'm beaming. It's been a fantastic passage of play. I'd like the lead to be a little less but the boys have fought back brilliantly.
