I know Kraigg Brathwaite fancies himself as a bowler. I was chatting to him over the boundary and he was complaining that the captain hadn't given him a bowl.

Ouch. You've had better days, eh Robb? Wishing you a speedy recovery.

We continue with spin from both ends as Chase concedes two singles from the over.

One more over until the new ball. We will (hopefully) get quick wickets or quick runs. Or both.

Broke my back (and wrist) today so lying immobile in hospital not allowed to move for at least two days. Hoping England can drag this one out a bit.

My pal bought quite an expensive indoor exercise bike during lockdown. In the space of two weeks, it has become quite an expensive clothes horse.

Kraigg Brathwaite turns his arm for his second over of the day. He offers some half-volley throw-downs as England take three singles from the over and bring up the 200. A lead of 89.

It's too far away to see who, but there is someone pumping on an exercise bike outside the England dressing room, a bit like a rugby replacement on the touchline. The Windies' body language, on and off the field, is slightly downbeat. They shouldn't be. Two wickets on this and they are on top again.

Looks like Jason Holder will persevere with Chase until the new ball is available in a few overs time.

Zak Crawley, as he has done so often, shuffles down to meet the pitch of the ball and flick the off-spinner to mid-on for a single.

Alzarri Joseph has been unfortunate. He went wicketless in the first innings has had a whole-hearted effort in the second. He just hasn't had that bit of luck.

West Indies would have liked that with the new ball around the corner.

    England lead by 78

    Alzarri Joseph replaces Jason Holder.

I remember Joseph bowling a decent over to Ben Stokes in the first innings and he's at it again.

First he sends down a beauty, getting movement off the turf and angling away from the England captain. Stokes responds with a nod of appreciation.

Stokes then gets a pull shot horribly wrong and top edges over the slip cordon. Jason Holder is running towards the boundary rope and the ball falls a few feet in front of him.

    Great over for West Indies.

His first-class numbers aren't much to write home about yet, but I like the look of Crawley a lot. He's got all the shots and very good balance for a man his height. Could be looking at the long-term number three here!

I asked how Ben Stokes will approach his innings well this may give us a bit of an indication.

The all-rounder takes a few steps forward and hoicks Roston Chase over mid-wicket for a four.

    Stokes 5, Crawley 50

Crawley has looked classy today, especially when advancing down the pitch to Chase. If he can convert this into three figures, not only will it put England in a strong position in this match but what a statement that would be to the selectors.

Stokes prods Holder towards square-leg for a single. Just one form the over.

This could be a very significant innings for Crawley. Not just for this game but whether it gives him an extended run in this side.

Roston Chase drops short and wide and Zak Crawley chops it to the point boundary. And he follows it up with another four runs to bring up his 50.

That's Crawley's second Test half-century. With Denly failing and Joe Root returning in the next Test, has the Kent batsman just cemented his place in the squad for Old Trafford?

The Jason Holder v Ben Stokes battle continues. The West Indies captain over-pitches and Stokes effortlessly drives down to mid-on for four.

A nice way to get off the mark. It will be interesting to see how Stokes approaches his innings. Still plenty of time left in this game.

Let's hope he hasn't sold the car, David.

Good flight from Chase, AKA England's Achilles heel, as he beats Crawley's outside edge.

Crawley replies with a crisp punch through cover for four.
