Brilliant batting. He's not scared to use his feet.

Chase certainly doesn't have anything flash about his off-spin. He's better than a part-timer but is no Murali.
Having let him take 8-60 in the Caribbean last year, England just seem to enjoy gifting him wickets.
Crawley comes down the pitch again but this time gets the middle of his bat on it and collects four.

Roston Chase taking Test wickets must give every half-decent club bowler the impression they've got Test wickets in them.

Andrew is certainly in the minority. I don't think he's related to Denners.

Everyone's slating Denly. But his time at the crease means Root/Stokes come in with the ball that bit older and the bowlers more tired. Rather that than a number three who mixes up occasional big scores with more regular sub-10s.

Alzarri Joseph runs in again to Stokes. I wonder whether Holder might bring himself on against the England skipper.

There's nothing wrong with the shot - he just didn't get it right. He didn't commit to it.

It was tantalising for both fielders. A very lucky escape for Crawley.

We were an extra cover drive short in this one, so not today's, Sam. Suggestions welcome.
Zak Crawley now has a moment of madness, rushing down the pitch and getting a leading edge. The ball goes high in the air but lands tantalisingly between the fielders.
Are England trying to throw this away?

Sam Roberts: Which Joe Denly innings is the most Joe Denly innings of all time?
Now Denly has to watch Zak Crawley, the man in line to take his place, try to do what he couldn't.
He'll be as annoyed as any of us.

Classic Denly.

One of the old boys at my club would say that Denly is in Club 18-30. He holidays there a lot.
I'd stay off Twitter for a while, Denners.
England really can't afford to wobble here. The lead is only 37.
Captain Stokes is out there.

Imtiaaz: That's got to be it for Denly as a Test player surely?
Ho Jay Minh: Time for Denly to go now. Crawley to three, Root to four.
That has to be in the top five softest dismissals I've seen.
Is that it for Denly? One 20-odd and out too many?
Alastair Cook

It's a bit like the Rory Burns dismissal, it came out of nowhere. He'll be gutted again. He played so well but he just can't get past 30.

BBC cricket correspondent on Test Match Special
Oh he's just given it away. If there is ever a classic end to Joe Denly, that it is. I can't believe I've seen that.
Denly c Holder b Chase 29 (Eng 151-3)
Joe, Joe, Joe. What have you done? Well, he's thrown it away, that's what.
A nothing ball from Roston Chase and Denly flicks the ball straight to mid-wicket.
It was like catching practice.
