  2. 'Win can be a driving force for us'published at 19:04 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

England all-rounder Ben Stokes on Test Match Special: "On the whole it is a great comeback from the lads. To come here after a disappointing loss in Southampton, to perform like we did here, especially with rain, shows we are capable of putting in performances like this. It can be driving force for us."

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

I think West Indies have to change something, and not just because they've lost. Cornwall must be a dead cert to start in the last Test. Gabriel and Alzarri looked weary and may struggle with injuries.

A bit more pace would be the perfect attack for the third Test here, if the pitch is the same.

I would say Jofra will play but it is not a certainty.

Dom Bess pitched in with two wickets right at the end, including the big wicket of the West Indies captain Jason Holder.

Bess' place will still come under scrutiny for the next Test, however.

  9. 'We have to look after our bowlers'published at 18:52 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

England captain Joe Root on Test Match Special: "I hope we can fit the attack in that we think is going to take 20 wickets on this ground [in third Test]. We'll also have to figure in how guys pull up.

"It has been quite hard work, pretty much back-to-back innings, and then maybe bowling first in the next game. We need to look after our bowlers.

"We've got an opportunity to do that moving forward. We need to make sure when guys are playing they're 100%."

Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad will take the headlines but it was an great all-round performance from the bowling attack.

Chris Woakes took two wickets and Sam Curran one.

  11. 'Everyone has contributed'published at 18:49 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

Player of the match Ben Stokes to Test Match Special: "There were a few conversations last night about who was going to go out.

"I think the way we played really helped us be in command of the game and left the carrot dangling for West Indies to chase it.

"The way we bowled all day was unbelievable. I think the way Broady has come back and has been absolutely awesome. Everyone has put their hands up and contributed to a great win."

  12. 'Stokes takes every opportunity to improve'published at 18:45 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

England captain Joe Root on Test Match Special: "Ben keeps developing his game and improving all the time. Credit to him, he really has taken every opportunity to make himself a better player. Throughout the game you've seen how destructive he can be when he needs to be and also when he needs to bat time and play to the situation, he can do that too."

  13. Postpublished at 18:43 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

It feels a long time ago but that period of England batting was some of the most thrilling cricket I have seen.

Credit to England for sending Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes out to open last night.

Stokes ended with 78 from 57 balls, having scored 176 in the first innings, and it allowed England to be attacking all day.

  14. 'Risky' for England to change teampublished at 18:42 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

I have no idea what team England will play next week. When a team has played as well as they have played as a team it is very risky to change that. One area is the spin because of right-handers West Indies have. Jack Leach could come in.

  15. 'Nothing to worry about' with Stokes 'injury'published at 18:40 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

Ben Stokes on his 'injury': "To be honest, it was just the body - I feel very old this Test match. It was a bit of body stiffness.

"There's absolutely nothing to worry about. I spoke to Stuart and said I was starting to get a bit tight, and he said to leave it."

  16. Postpublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

Joe Root says at the presentation you always expect performances like this from Stuart Broad.

He took three wickets today, six in the match. He walked the walk after talking the talk.

  17. 'The perfect return to cricket'published at 18:39 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

More from Jason Holder on TMS: "You can say a lot of things afterwards. I thought the bowlers stuck to it and did a really good job.

"We challenged the England batters a lot. Stokes and Sibley played really well and I'm happy with the way our bowlers bowled.

"The guys really put up a good effort. We need a few more of those starts and capitalising on certain moments in the game.

"If we had fought few a more spells, we'd possibly have been in a better position.

"It's all to play for. This is the perfect return to cricket."

  19. 'Yesterday set us back'published at 18:35 British Summer Time 20 July 2020

West Indies captain Jason Holder on Test Match Special: "I'm a little disappointed with the way we batted. Yesterday's evening batting performance probably really set us back.

"If we were batting into today's play we would have been best set to save the game or even give ourselves a chance to win."

On bowling first: "In hindsight, I'm pretty satisfied with the way I went about our decision making.

"We just have to tighten up a little more. I thought our bowlers did a hell of a good job on this surface."

    Michael Vaughan
Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

This kind of performance by England is what I expected a week ago. For whatever reason last week they didn't arrive with the bat in hand.

This week, for Sibley to play the way he did and Stokes to read the situation, you always felt as soon as those runs were on the board it would be difficult for West Indies.
