This is where England need a crowd. You can just imagine that right about now a well-lubricated Party Stand would be finding its voice. It's a big session for Jofra Archer too. If England win, we won't swell on the need for Ben Stokes to do the job Jofra should have been doing...

A very nice half-century for Jermaine Blackwood comes up with a clipped single off Dom Bess.

West Indies aren't out of the woods yet, but Blackwood has gone some way to steadying them once again.

Another yard or two further forward and that would have gone into Pope's hands.

  9. WI 119-4published at 38.2 overs

Jermaine Blackwood doesn't deal with short stuff especially well.

He gets into an awkward position and just about manages to fend the ball in front of Ollie Pope at short leg. That's a terrific bouncer from Stokes, right in at the batsman's ribs.

Dom Bess needs to slow it down. He has been a bit one-paced.

    Woof!

Down the ground goes Shamarh Brooks this time, a little shimmy forward and then launching Dom Bess back over his head and way over the boundary rope. Glorious.

It might be worth Bess trying to come around the wicket. These two are playing comfortably.

    Shot!

Shamarh Brooks latches on to a short Dom Bess delivery and drives it handsomely to the boundary rope.

As a result of the postponement of this year's T20 World Cup, the upcoming men's tournaments will be as follows:

    • T20 World Cup 2021, held in October and November 2021 with the final on 14 November 2021.
    • T20 World Cup 2022, held in October and November 2022 with the final on 13 November 2022.
    • Cricket World Cup 2023, held in India in October and November 2023 with the final on 26 November 2023

The ICC says it is monitoring the situation around the Women's World Cup, which is due to start in February in New Zealand.

    Target 312

Ben Stokes is going to try some bouncer theory, and Jermaine Blackwood rather awkwardly flaps at his first ball to run it away for one.

Ashes dates haven't been confirmed yet but I think the T20 World Cup postponement means there will be just a couple of weeks gap between the tournament finishing and the Ashes starting in Australia.

    It's not ideal, is it?

Oh, that's a brave leave! Shamarh Brooks lets a fizzing, spinning delivery from Dom Bess fly just over the top of his stumps. Brooks is lucky that the extra bounce took the ball a little higher than he expected.
