I think Australia's kits could be considered glow in the dark. They're so bright under the floodlights that it's hurting my eyes.

Target 295
Biffage. Short from Starc and Bairstow strong-arms it through the covers with a lot of bottom hand, like a boxer throwing a right hook. It is properly dark out there.

This is a strong batting line-up, when you consider Chris Woakes is at number eight. Adil Rashid can get the ball to some strange places at number nine too.
Target 295
Really? Whereabouts? How have I missed that.

The Oval has a chippy in the ground!
Matt in Norfolk
Target 295
Joe Root is the new man.
Watch the catch when you can. It was a stunner. A wicket maiden from Hazlewood. Rarer than hen's teeth in modern ODIs.

That catch is as good as it gets.

What a take. What a reflex catch. That is very, very difficult. He's a tall bowler and he's plucked it out of the air.
Roy c&b Hazlewood 3 (Eng 7-1)
What a catch! Josh Hazlewood has stuck a hand out and hung on in his follow-through.
The wicket has been coming. Australia have been all over England. Jason Roy has poked one back and Hazlewood has taken it shin high down to his right.
We're getting an idea of just how tough this chase will be.

With someone like Jason Roy or Bairstow, if the snick is found then it will go sharp.
Target 295
Ed Smith is in the stands, rugged up in a scarf and a baseball cap. Starc is cranking it up, his hair bouncing behind a black headband. 90mpm. No real swing, but bang on the money. England are searching at the moment.

Hazlewood is such a good bowler - you know if there's any movement out there, he will find it.
Target 295
It's nipping. Seam movement this way and that. One goes past Bairstow's inside edge, cutting him in half. Neither of these England batsmen look to be coming in with any sort of fluency. Bairstow is still lightning between the wickets, though.

Steve L: Australia 294-9 and England are quite big favourites with the bookies to win. How cricket has changed...
Target 295
Which cricket ground, of any level, has the best chippy nearby? Headingley has a few options. Josh Hazlewood, the metronome, at the other end.

Alan Butler: It's 19:20, and I would give my right arm to have a chippy down on the corner.

Jason Roy has one school of thought - stare at the ball and club it.
Target 295
The lights are starting to take effect at Old Trafford. It's only just past 5 o'clock, which makes me slightly concerned for my game tomorrow. Then again, I won't be facing Mitchell Starc. Jason Roy is flapping and swiping, expecting swing, but he's playing and missing at deliveries angled across. When Starc does swing one, it's a wide down the leg side.
Isa Guha
Ex-England bowler on BBC Test Match Special
Jason Roy took Mitchell Starc apart in the World Cup semi-final last year with some of the most glorious shots you will see.

I think we've got a great game on here.
