  1. Pak 10-0published at 1.4 overs

One thing I noticed during the Tests is that Babar is rapid running in the middle. He nearly lapped Abid Ali going for three at one stage in Southampton.

He taps and gets a well-run couple, putting the England fielders under early pressure.

That will settle Mahmood down, no-one likes to get hit for four first ball. The old heart will have been racing.

  3. Pak 5-0published at 1 over

    Babar 5, Fakhar 0

Lovely from "Saq". Three dots to finish the over and he's close to 88mph. Moeen Ali is going to open from the other end in an interesting move by England.

Might have just pitched outside leg and a little bit high as well. But a bit of pace.

  5. Pak 5-0published at 0.4 overs

Fahkar Zaman on strike now and he's hit on the pad by the pacey Mahmood. England are up with an appeal but I reckon it pitched outside leg.

This is a good comeback from Mahmood.

Babar on to that in a flash. Taking no prisoners.

  8. Pak 4-0published at 0.1 over

What were we saying about Babar? Mahmood bangs the first ball short and the Pakistan captain pulls through mid-wicket to the boundary.

Babar has been one of my all-time favourite team-mates. He leads by example. Not just on the field with his phenomenal performances. Off the field he is a great guy. You have to pull him out of the nets. He sets the standard and that's what makes him a great leader.

Saqib Mahmood is going to take the new ball. Eoin Morgan is blowing on his hands. It may not be raining but it still isn't the warmest.

    Ex-Pakistan all-rounder on BBC One

Babar is a class act in any format. Whenever he bats he looks totally different from other batsmen. He's so easy on the eyes. The only thing now as captain he needs to learn the art of captaincy but I'm sure in the passage of time he will.

It has clouded over a little now with play minutes away. The players are just making their way out to the middle.

How good is the Pakistan kit by the way?

On Saqib Mahmood: I've played a bit with him at Lancashire and I love the way he moves the new ball. He can bowl at 85mph-plus, he can swing the ball away from the right-hander and bowls with aggression. He's going to get a huge test today playing against the number one T20 batsman in Babar Azam and he'll learn from that one way or the other.

It's great, isn't it? There's more to come too. The second T20 against Australia will also be live on BBC TV.

Chris Adams: Absolutely brilliant to have live cricket back on the BBC this afternoon. Thanks BBC & @ECB_cricket for making this happen & for giving me the opportunity to watch with my young son and grow his interest in a fantastic game. Come on England!

Richard Sanderson: I’m ridiculously excited to have live England cricket back on the BBC again.

There were question marks about Eoin's form, certainly in one-day cricket, but when you see him play the way he does, he leads by example. He's improved so much as a player and will continue to improve.

I'm very excited to see Babar Azam come out and open the batting in 15 minutes time. His T20 record, and his record in England, is ridiculous.
