  1. new ball

    No ballpublished at 4.5 overs

This is tosh, a 90mph full toss into the ribs that Tom Banton somehow manages to hoick away for four, and he's got a free hit to play with...

The decision to go with Haris Rauf over Shaheen Afridi hasn't worked.

  3. Eng 37-2published at 4.5 overs

Oops! A collision as Eoin Morgan and Tom Banton get into a muddle over running and Haris Rauf, trying to field the ball, almost knocks the England captain to the floor, rugby scrum style.

There's a belated apology from Rauf before his next delivery gets pumped to the leg-side boundary by Banton.

I'd have gambled on Shaheen bowling a third over, especially against Eoin Morgan.

  5. Eng 31-2published at 4.1 overs

Shot! Tom Banton drives gloriously to get his first ball from Rauf away through the covers for four.

He didn't get it out of the middle of the bat. He thought he'd gotten it over the foam rope, but it just brings England's captain to the crease, who is in great form.

    Malan c Fakhar b Imad 7 (Eng 26-2)

    Good grief, what a catch!

What a superb piece of work from Imad Wasim. He's down in the deep, just a few inches from the boundary rope, and the ball is flying straight at him courtesy of a Dawid Malan hoick. Imad steadies himself, takes a miniscule step forward, and takes a superb catch, all the while managing to avoid stepping on the rope behind him. Brilliant.

  11. Eng 26-1published at 3.4 overs

Dragged down from Imad Wasim, and Dawid Malan hoicks it along the ground to the fielder.

That's more like it, though! Malan frees his arms and goes over the infield to pick up his first four with a meaty blow.

Banton is using his feet well to the left-arm spin of Imad Wasim, almost in relief at not having to face Shaheen Afridi.

Finding it very funny that this game is on a square with one long boundary & one short - isn't that where club groundsman normally put the Sunday friendly matches?!

Shaheen is bowling beautifully. He's charging in looking for wickets.

  16. Eng 17-1published at 3 overs

Dawid Malan gets into a tangle, trying to hoick Shaheen Afridi high into the air, but the top edge somehow lands safely between three converging fielders.

Banton can't resist a fiddle outside off stump as the over progresses, and England will have to settle for just two runs.

Tom Banton has got great balance, posture and body language in the middle.

He plays that shot with such timing and control, almost like it's his forward defence.

  19. Eng 15-1published at 2 overs

Tom Banton tries that reverse-paddle once again and the fielder placed there for the shot at backward point trips over as he tries to dive forward.

Four more. A profitable over for England.

  20. Eng 11-1published at 1.4 overs

A full toss is gratefully received by Tom Banton and spanked through the covers for four. Lovely.

Oh, four more! Shot! Gosh, Banton plays that shot so well, manouvering his wrists and reverse-paddling Imad for four.
