    Bairstow c Patel b Chappell 5 (Yorkshire 23-2 v Notts)

    Got him!

Zak Chappell's deserved that scalp as Jonny Bairstow plays it straight to Samit Patel at backward point.

Not the innings the England man would've wanted.

So, no batting side is off to a flier this morning. If anything, the bowlers have been on top.

Plenty of time for things to change though as the August furnace heats up this afternoon.

    Steel lbw b Wood 1 (Durham 14-2 v Lancs)

A maiden Lancs wicket for Luke Wood!

Cameron Steel tries to pad up at one that nips back and gets it all wrong.

It smashed into the pad and looked pretty plumb to me.

England's record Test run scorer, Alastair Cook, is still there on nine.

Also in the South group Darren Stevens has picked up a wicket for Kent against Sussex - Phil Salt the man to go. Sussex are doing okay though - 39-1.

Have a look at this socially distanced celebration from Kent. Strange times we're living in folks...

    Incredible keeping.

There's no Olly Stone in the squad (side injury) but paceman Oliver Hannon-Dalby has stepped up and already taken the wicket of Gloucestershire captain Chris Dent.

  20. 'Bairstow still wants to keep for England'published at 11:01

    Notts v Yorkshire 0-0

Speaking of Jonny Bairstow, Yorkshire head coach Andrew Gale said he was likely to bat up the order. We might not have to wait too long either as Yorkshire are batting first at Trent Bridge.

"Jonny still wants to keep for England, so while he wants to do that he's the best keeper in the country in my eyes," he said.

"We'll have a chat with him about where he wants to bat. I believe he wants to bat up the order.

"He's excited to come back into the side. He's dropped me a few texts this week, he rang me the other day, and he's got the bit between his teeth. While Jonny's in that mood, he's a dangerous player."
