  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Root c Cox b Pennington 34 (Worcs v Glamorgan 87-4, target 358)

Just what the doctor ordered for Worcestershire.

Pears paceman Dillon Pennington snaffles Billy Root down the leg side.

24 and a bit overs remain - six wickets needed.

    Gloucestershire v Warks 90-5 (target 239)

Warwickshire trail by less than 150 runs now with just under 30 overs to go.

Five per over with five wickets left - it's definitely possible.

I don't think the Bears plan on attempting it though. Michael Burgess (9*) and Tim Bresnan (3*) have strike rates of 25.71 and 11.11.

  3. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

So, we've got Warwickshire and Glamorgan trying to save their respective games, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire pushing for victory.

It could be fairly slow going over the next half-hour or so... some wickets would liven things up!

Also, I like Glamorgan's optimism in this tweet... "28 overs left, a further 280 needed to win".

    Worcs v Glamorgan 72-3 (target 358)

Worcestershire need another wicket, and quickly you feel.

Chris Cooke and Billy Root are both in the 30s and looking relatively untroubled.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Rhodes c Roderick b Higgins 48 (Gloucestershire v Warks 80-5 - target 239)

    First ball after tea!

Will Rhodes falls two away from a half-century, caught behind down the leg by Gloucestershire keeper Gareth Roderick.

Tim Bresnan, century maker last week, is the new man in for Warwickshire.

Ryan Higgins has 4-10. Brilliant bowling!

  6. Postpublished at 16:05 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Gloucestershire v Warks 80-4 (target 239)

    Under way in Bristol too.

All three results are still possible here. Or four if you include the tie.

  7. Postpublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Worcs v Glamorgan 57-3 (target 358)

And so the final session begins at New Road with 34 overs remaining.

Worcestershire need seven wickets, Glamorgan have to hang on. They're not getting another 299 runs.

Billy Root and captain Chris Cooke are in the middle.

Adam Savoury: I hope Dom Bess starts bowling well in the next 12 months - England can stay away from Simon Harmer then.

  9. Tea at Bristolpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Gloucestershire v Warks 80-4 (target 239)

And it's Tea in Bristol too.

Warwickshire need another 159 runs to win. Will Rhodes is looking good with 48 off 99 deliveries and Michael Burgess has four from 20.

A minimum of 36 overs remain in the final session.

  10. Tea at New Roadpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Worcs v Glamorgan 57-3 (target 358)

It's tea at Worcestershire where Billy Root and Chris Cooke's stand of 52 has settled things down for Glamorgan since they were 5-3.

  11. 14 wickets for Harmerpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Simon Harmer is some performer...

  12. ESSEX BEAT SURREYpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 11 August 2020
    Breaking

    Essex (262 & 261) beat Surrey (187 & 167) by 169 runs

    Simon HarmerImage source, Rex Features

All over! Simon Harmer grabs the last wicket and finishes with figures of 8-64.

Amar Virdi is the man to go as he chips the spinner into the air and Jamie Porter holds on.

That's back-to-back wins for Essex now and they top the Bob Willis Trophy South group, while Surrey have lost both their matches.

Harmer's match figures are an incredible 14-131.

  13. Postpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Gloucestershire v Warks 76-4 (target 239)

I do expect Gloucestershire v Warwickshire to carry on well into the evening session however.

The Bears need 163, Gloucestershire need six wickets and we've got about 38 overs left in the day.

Will Rhodes looks good for the visitors. He moves on to 45.

  14. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Essex v Surrey 165-9 (target 337)

I said last-wicket stands always hold things up. 20 minutes and counting for Surrey pair Adam Finch and Amar Virdi.

Virdi has just skipped down the wicket and launched Simon Harmer over his head for four! Bonkers, brilliant batting.

  15. Postpublished at 15:29 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Worcs v Glamorgan 45-3 (target 358)

Worcestershire are starting to leak boundaries.

Chris Cooke has boshed his way to 20 off 26 balls, while Billy Root is 20 off 25 deliveries. Both have four boundaries apiece.

Meanwhile at Chelmsford, the wait for Essex to claim that final wicket goes on...

  16. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Gloucestershire v Warks 64-4 (target 239)

At 23 overs old, the ball at Bristol is doing less and less with every delivery.

Warwickshire captain Will Rhodes remains unfazed on 34 off 75, while Michael Burgess is still yet to really get going with 3 from 12.

The Bears need a big partnership. Could this be it?

  17. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Essex v Surrey 154-9 (target 337)

You know that Surrey's last-wicket pair of Adam Finch and Amar Virdi are going to hold things up for the foreseeable future don't you?

    It always happens.

  18. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Worcs v Glamorgan 24-3 (target 358)

Glamorgan have got a couple of experienced heads at the crease in first-innings centurion Billy Root and captain Chris Cooke now.

From 5-3 though, still plenty of work to do for the rest of the Glamorgan batsmen to save this one.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

    Taylor c Khushi b Beard 0 (Essex v Surrey 150-9, target 337)

    One to go for Essex...

James Taylor cuts Aaron Beard to backward point to give the paceman his second wicket.

That means no career-best figures for Simon Harmer who has 7-57 at the moment.

  20. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 11 August 2020

So, with that thumping Yorkshire victory at Trent Bridge, we're down to three matches.

Essex are on the brink of beating Surrey, but there is still plenty of cricket left between Worcestershire and Glamorgan and Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. Settle in for the afternoon - it's too hot to be doing anything else!
