  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Stoneman c Cox b Podmore 10 (Surrey 20-3, target 192 v Kent)

    Kent have another!

Decent delivery from Harry Podmore going across the left-handed Mark Stoneman and he can't get his bat inside the line and nicks it to first slip.

    Game on!

  2. 14:15 BST Inspection at Wantage Roadpublished at 13:56 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 62-1 (Target 189) v Glamorgan

The covers stayed on at Wantage Road while the umpires had their first look.

But it won't be too long before they have a second inspection.

  3. Grace Road resumption at 14:15 BSTpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Leics 222 & 143-3 v Notts 343-8 dec

The covers have been peeled off at Leicestershire and they're going to start in 20 minutes.

A minimum of 52 overs to be bowled with the hosts leading by just 22 runs.

    Shaw c Bartlett b C Overton 0 (Somerset v Gloucestershire 67-9, target 385)

Once again, Somerset start a session with a wicket.

    But it's another shocking dismissal.

Josh Shaw tamely chips Craig Overton to midwicket.

This has been a horror show from Gloucestershire.

Craig Overton has a fifth wicket and Somerset are almost there.

  5. Hat-trick survivedpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Surrey 14-2 (Target 192) v Kent

Will Jacks survives the hat-trick ball but Surrey's shaky line up under pressure.

  6. Play under way at Tauntonpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 63-8 (Target 385)

The players themselves were having to give the groundstaff a hand to get the covers off at Taunton, such was the strength of the wind.

But they're safely away for the moment and Somerset need only two wickets to wrap up victory.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Smith c Leaning b Stevens 0 (Surrey 6-2, target 192 v Kent)

    Darren Stevens on a hat-trick!

Full length but so wide and Jamie Smith leans out far too keenly and edges to second slip.

Should have been left well alone.

End of the over so the hat-trick ball will have to wait.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Borthwick c Bell-Drummond b Stevens 2 (Surrey 6-1, target 192 v Kent)

Kent will hope to make this a very tricky chase indeed and they have an early one.

Dobbing length ball from Darren Stevens, it stops a bit on Scott Borthwick and he lobs a catch up to mid-on.

  9. Postpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Surrey 4-0 (Target 192) v Kent

Surrey underway in their run chase.

Would repair some of the damage of a terrible Bob Willis Trophy so far if they can knock these off.

No team had fewer points than Surrey at the start of the round.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Gilchrist c Clarke b Curran 13 (Surrey 278 v Kent 342 and 127)

Kent can't squeeze out many more.

Two boundaries for Nathan Gilchrist but he's fallen to the Clarke-Curran combination that did so much damage yesterday.

A full tempter slid across the right-hander from Curran and Gilchrist has driven off an edge to Clarke at first slip.

Surrey will need 192 to win.

Rikki Clarke finishes with 5-20 and Sam Curran 4-39.

  11. 13:45 BST restart at Tauntonpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Somerset v Gloucestershire 63-8 (Target 385)

What news this is for Somerset!

They would have feared the worst having not been able to finish Gloucestershire off yesterday.

But it's looking clear now at Taunton and they'll be back underway shortly.

  12. Play starts at The Ovalpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Surrey 278 v Kent 342 and 118-9

Well we thought this might not happen at all today but we have play under way at The Oval.

Some of these grounds now really are top class and it doesn't take long to get the ground ready when the rain stops.

Surrey will be glad because they are in the driving seat - although whatever happens for Kent's final wicket it could still be a tricky run chase.

68 overs remain, tea is fixed at 15:30 BST.

  13. Stevens offered new Kent dealpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Surrey 278 v Kent 342 & 118-9 - play to start at 13:00 BST

Now this time last year, there was debate about the future of Darren Stevens.

Kent announced he would leave at the end of the season and Stevens was pursuing player-coach opportunities elsewhere.

Then came one of the most memorable performances in County Championship history when he single-handedly took Yorkshire apart at Headingley.

12 months on, with a few more wickets and runs in the bag for the 44-year-old, there's no debate.

Durham (339-7 dec) drew with Derbyshire (355-4)

No surprise that they've called it off at Durham.

Derbyshire climb back above Yorkshire and to the top of the North Group having taken 14 points from the match.

  17. 13:30 BST inspection at Wantage Roadpublished at 12:04 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Northamptonshire 62-1 (Target 189) v Glamorgan

Northamptonshire should have this game in the can by now but were on the wrong-end of a Marchant de Lange rampage yesterday when he scored a 62-ball hundred, batting at number 10!

So they have another 127 runs to find which is probably going to need a session.

  18. 13:00 restart at The Ovalpublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 25 August 2020

    Surrey 278 v Kent 342 and 118-9

Aha first good news of the day, they will try and get under way at The Oval.

Excellent news for Surrey who have had a torrid time so far in the Bob Willis Trophy.

But Rikki Clarke's five-for hauled them back into the game yesterday and they could complete a remarkable turnaround today.
