    Stumps in Liverpool. I'd call that Derbyshire's day although you never know until both sides have batted.

    Derbyshire of course realistically need to win, to grab a place in the Bob Willis Trophy final.

    Surrey v Sussex 239-3

    Surrey may have packed their side with some big names for this game, but the day belongs to Sussex opener Tom Haines with his unbeaten 105 off 216 balls.

    Delray Rawlins also caught the eye with his 65 off 88 balls after a promotion up the order.

    Sussex will resume on the second day on 239-3.

    Four byes bring the 200 up for Lancashire.

    Both batsman, Tom Hartley and Jack Morley, are yet to get off the mark.

    Not long to go now, just 18 deliveries remain.

  7. Buttler's unbeaten 77 gives England win

    Second T20 international: England beat Australia by six wickets

    Meanwhile, in case you weren't aware, England have just beaten Australia by six wickets in the second T20 international at the Ageas Bowl to seal a series win with a match to spare.

    All done for the day in the Garden of England.

    Kent lose a couple of late wickets which means England's Zak Crawley has to come out and face seven balls in the gloom, which he survives without getting off the mark.

    Matt Milnes does his job as nightwatchman at the other end.

    Kent close on 21-2 still 170 runs behind with eight wickets in hand after earlier dismissing Hampshire for 191.

    Darren Stevens' 29th first-class career five-wicket haul and six catches from wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson helped do the damage.

    We've still got seven overs left in Liverpool after the delayed start this morning.

    George Balderson has been brilliant in defence, notching up 36 from 126 deliveries. He's joined by Danny Lamb who has right from 27.

    Remember, Derbyshire need to win this game to give themselves the best chance of making the final.

    Stumps on an eventful first day between Essex and Middlesex.

    Essex close 30 runs behind the visitors with five wickets in hand after 15 in total fell in the day.

    Ryan ten Doeschate (28 not out) and Adam Wheater (18 not out) will resume in the morning as the South Group leaders eye some batting bonus points.

    Worcestershire 14-0 v Somerset 251

    Craig Overton can't nab a late wicket and Jake Libby and Daryl Mitchell survive until the close.

    A big day two for both sides tomorrow then with the winner of this tie topping the central group.

    Two wickets in the space of two overs for Hampshire at Canterbury.

    Daniel Bell-Drummond is comprehensively bowled by Ian Holland for 16 to leave Kent on 20-2.

    Surrey v Sussex 217-2

    We've not mentioned much of what's happening at The Oval today with neither side able to qualify for the final.

    But young Sussex opener Tom Haines has plenty of reasons for a mention as he brings up a century from 186 balls, which has included 13 fours.

    He and Delray Rawlins (58 not out) have added 108 for the third wicket so far.

  17. Close of play at Headingley

    Yorkshire 36-2 v Leicestershire 124

    All done for the day in Leeds after rain unfortunately meant no more play was possible after 16:00 BST.

    Yorkshire will hope to resume in the morning without any further delay on 36-2, still 88 runs behind Leicestershire's 124.

    Ben Coad took the plaudits earlier in the day with his 5-18 with the ball.

    Daryl Mitchell and Jake Libby come to the crease at New Road with just four overs left before stumps.
