After 25 matches in 30 days, the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy is over and no-one can dispute that Southern Vipers are worthy champions.

They won seven games out of seven and in skipper Georgia Adams and Charlotte Taylor had the leading run-scorer (500) and wicket-taker (15).

A total of 231 all out was less than the Vipers might have expected after being 150-1 at one stage.

But after a decent start in reply, Diamonds were undone by Taylor's 6-34 as they were dismissed for 193, despite 55 by Sterre Kalis.

"I’m so pleased. The team has shown so much character. To have an unbeaten season, I’m so proud of the girls.

"We really bat all the way down and we kept our eyes on 220, 230. We back our bowling attack to defend that.

"The competition has been brilliant. Playing at grounds like Edgbaston goes such a long way. The game is going leaps and bounds in the right direction."

Following her side's defeat by Southern Vipers, Northern Diamonds skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill told SkySports:

"Credit to the girls for sticking in at the end their. We got it close when it didn’t look like we’d have a chance.

"We did really well to drag them back. At the start of their innings we thought it was a 260-pitch so we were really happy.

"But we just didn’t bat well enough and Charlotte Taylor bowled really well."

After taking 6-34 for Southern Vipers, Charlotte Taylor told SkySports:

“Obviously a few weeks ago I got drafted into the competition. I never expected to play so to be here is brilliant.

"It helps I’ve got a great team around me. I back myself to bowl on a spot and that’s what I tried to do and that’s what the team wanted from me.

"I turn one in a million maybe. My balls just tend to drift away from the batsman, I’m not going to change my technique now."

Phoebe Graham tries to sweep Vipers captain Georgia Adams but top edges and Paige Scholfield just about clings onto the catch running back from mid-wicket.

Graham made 16 and Katie Levick is left eight not out.

Adams' 80 - which took her to 500 runs in the competition - was the foundation of the Vipers total and a collapse from 74-1 to 96-6 left the Diamonds with too much to do, despite 55 by Sterre Kalis.

Star performer, though, was spinner Charlotte Taylor, who took 6-34 for the Vipers and finished as the RHF Trophy's leading wicket-taker with 15 at an average of 10.13

Maia Bouchier is the new bowler, Phoebe Graham is on strike.

She clips away to long leg for four and then swipes across the line to mid-wicket for a single.

The final delivery is a full toss, but Katie Levick can make nothing from it.

Katie Levick belies her number 11 status with a glorious on-drive for four off Lauren Bell. The tall pace bowler has 0-37 as we take a short sanitisation break.

Southern Vipers appeal for a stumping, but Phoebe Graham is OK.

It's a maiden from Cjharluie Dean, though, and it;s now a question of when and not if the Vipers win the game.

Phoebe Graham takes two as Tara Norris returns for the Vipers.

Sterre Kalis reaches a 72-ball fifty with a square cut for four, and then smashes the next ball over mid-wicket for another boundary.

It is her third half-century in successive innings in the RHF Trophy - after starting the competition with three ducks.

Charliotte Taylor returns and there is her five-for as Beth Langston goes the same way as Jebny Gunn, leg-before sweeping.

It's a huge blow for the Diamonds as Langston was providing batting well in tandem with Sterre Kalis needed - their stand adding 49.

It's a tough situation for Diamonds - they need to keep the scoreboard ticking over but preserve their remaining wickets.

Sterre Kalis cuts Paige Scholfield for four and it's seven from the over. That's plenty at this stage.

Good use of the feet by Beth Langston who drives Georgia Adams away for four at the start of a new over. The pair are content for singles for the rest of the over as the Diamonds total reaches 150 - 82 more needed.
