"England are going to win the World Cup" is the verdict of Stuart Broad, who is doing the punditry on Sky Sports.
England captain Eoin Morgan: "This win means a huge amount. This was the worst possible pitch for the way we play, and we have won on a wicket which is slow and spins so I am very proud.
"I genuinely don't think the ball will spin like that in UAE having played a full season in the IPL there last year, but we are ready for any surfaces that do spin. Jason Roy really set up the chase and, while it wasn't Jos Buttler's day, he hung in there."
On the World Cup squad: "There have been some fantastic performances from guys who have come in and played, even with a limited opportunity. It gives us plenty of options with a squad of 17 or 18, although unfortunately we're only able to take 15 players."
Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "We were 10 to 15 runs short today. Our batting let us down, but we fought, our players fought well and you saw the fight from them which was good. The partnership between myself and Mohammed Rizwan, if it had developed a bit better, maybe we would have the extra 10 or 15 runs.
"We need to do better against spinners, we haven't struggled as much but haven't batted as well as we could. Some days we have good days and some days we have bad days."

Player of the series Liam Livingstone: "I'm very happy. It's nice to win a series at my home ground. The way the spinners bowled in the middle overs really helped us.
"Hitting sixes is something I've worked hard on and it's nice to come into the England team and contribute to a win. I have worked on my bowling, and I feel at home bowling a lot here for Lancashire. The overs came out really well."
On his bleached-blond haircut: "It is proving a lucky charm. Who knows, maybe I'll have to keep it!"

England opener Jason Roy:"I just went out there and tried to have a bit of fun. I tried to get off to a good start. I was frustrated to get out when I did but the boys were good enough to get us over the line.
"For us to have a performance like that on a pitch like that is very rewarding.
"We play incredible cricket on flat pitches and score millions of runs. But sometimes we struggle on slower pitches. Today is going to give us lots of confidence."

The quality they have got in their squad is as good as, if not better, than anyone else in the world. They've got players who know how to win tournaments now, after 2019.

A useful test for England on an Old Trafford pitch which gives an inkling of the kind of surface they're likely to cope with at the T20 World Cup.
