Oh! How has that missed the bat?!
Brilliant from Lasith Embuldeniya. Dan Lawrence has a wry smile on his face. He survives.

Dan Lawrence will never have experienced anything like this in his life.
Lasith Embuldeniya rips one past Dan Lawrence's outside edge, before another ball spits up and cracks Lawrence on the glove.
He's played that so well but it just rose off the pitch like nobody's business.

Harry Panton: Perhaps the day 5 rain will save England?
Need 53 to win
I highly recommend you go to Kate Cross' Twitter feed, by the way, and watch Dickwella accidentally high-fiving his teammate in the face when they celebrated a wicket. Superb.
Jonny Bairstow goes to cut and is beaten by Perera. Just block it, lads.

Isn't this incredible?
Dan Lawrence goes for a sweep and is struck on the pad, but it's trailing down leg and he - wisely - responds to the call for a single by Bairstow.

Anthony Gale: Of course this has to be completely nerve shredding.
Matt R: Test cricket you magnificent beast. How I've missed you.
Target 74
Jonny Bairstow goes for a big drive, for reasons best known to himself, and sends it on the bounce to the fielder at point.

England did get bowled out for 72 against Pakistan in the UAE, didn't they?

Jonny Bairstow will be thinking he better get England over the line. He has run the player who got a double hundred out.

England get through an over without incident.
A normal day, England. Just one.

Olivia Rae: I was going to go out for a cycle I’m not moving!!!! Dramatic stuff.
Rob Meech: Suddenly 74 to win feels like 400.

It just goes to show what a tricky passage of play can do. The ball is really spitting.
Having watched the replay of the run out, the collision wasn't a huge one, or on purpose - Root had to get around the bowler from the non striker's end. I do think Bairstow has done him with the call. Cracking direct hit from Dickwella, too.
