Bowser: Any lead over 100 and England are well in with a shout of collapsing.

    Lead by 57

Mark Wood's next delivery is a bouncer but Perera can duck under it with ease.

It's much the same with the next one, the ball trailing down the leg side, but the final ball is well-directed and just grazes Perera's shoulder.

  3. SL 343-8published at 129.2 overs

Dilruwan Perera is done like a kipper by Mark Wood as he whips a ball past the batsman's inside edge.

Wood looks appalled and then rearranges his field in a manner that suggests Perera is going to have some short stuff to negotiate...

You have to give credit to Mathews. He hasn't played any outrageous shots. He has gone deep in his crease and played with the spin.

His innings has been pretty good.

  5. SL 343-8published at 129 overs

    A maiden from Jack Leach!

Perera will have to face Mark Wood again.

Perera has a best score of 92. 92 here would really put a cat amongst the pigeons - or egrets.

  7. SL 343-8published at 128 overs

    Lead by 57

A cut from Perera is cut off by a diving Dom Bess, and Mark Wood keeps him quiet for the rest of the over.

A bit of pace on the ball might help Sri Lanka...

    Shot!

Dilruwan Perea plonks Mark Wood's first delivery straight back past him for four.

Hello. Mark Wood will replace Dom Bess.

  12. SL 339-8published at 127 overs

    Lead by 53

Jack Leach beats Angelo Mathews on the outside edge with another biting, spinning delivery, before Dilruwan Perera jabs his bat down on a full delivery and squeezes it away for four.

Joe Root actually appealed for lbw for that which, er, would be fine had he not got a huge chunk of bat on it.

It did keep a bit low. What is very, very difficult is Mathews has gone over the top of the ball so the wicketkeeper doesn't get a clear look at the ball. It is a tough chance.

    Angelo Mathews survives.

That is the first mistake Buttler has made.

  16. Missed stumpingpublished at 125.3 overs

    Oh!

This was a hard chance for Jos Buttler but it goes down as a miss. Angelo Mathews came darting forward, missed the ball completely, and it went through low, scuttling through Buttler's legs as he grasped with his hands. Buttler has been terrific today and that was a tough one.

These two have decided they have got to play shots. Runs are the key.

  18. SL 328-8published at 125 overs

I like Perera. He hammers Jack Leach to the cover boundary, getting forward and throwing everything into the shot.

Leach responds with a delivery that spits up, and Jos Buttler ends up taking the ball at nose height.

Good use of the feet from Perera. He got to the pitch of it. England still won't mind seeing that.
