We're seeing replay after replay of that catch. Pant had hardly any time to react. He caught it in the webbing of his left hand. He was rewarded by being repeatedly slapped on the cheeks by his team-mates. Harsh.

Cricktronics: All the talk of spin and India’s seamers have picked up 3 wickets in 10 Overs. Foakes apart, English batsmen have just not been good enough.

Wowzers. Rishabh Pant is having some series. This is a spectacular grab.

No sooner have England fans stop celebrating avoiding the follow-on, another wicket falls.

Leach edges Ishant and Pant flings himself to his left and holds on one-handed.

There's an inevitability about this game and that's not what you want when you're watching Test cricket.

Foakes has now faced more than 100 balls. Had someone in the top six done so then of course England would be a lot closer to that 200 mark.

Inevitably there are calls to get him into England's XI more regularly. How you do so is the much more difficult question.

Ben Foakes has played nicely. He's looked pretty relaxed and looks a lot better than Dan Lawrence did at number three.

I was a lot more optimistic at the start of the day - I thought England could maybe push past 200, but it's been all India. They've shown all their experience on this pitch and England have had no answers.

I guess we'll never know what would have happened had England batted first.

Ishant is back into the attack.

Steve Bland: Nothing wrong with preparing a pitch the favour the home side. This one just seems so extreme that the team who won the toss was always going to win.

Maybe I'm going to die alone on this hill but, again, why does a match have to last five days because it can?

The more pressing question may be what are we all going to do with our extra time if the match does finish tomorrow.

Clean out the kitchen cupboards, maybe.

There will be questions asked, in the wider game, about the suitability of this pitch for Test cricket. If cricket was played on this pitch all the time then there would be no need for five days.

Rishabh Pant beats his gloves as one rips down the leg side and runs down for four byes. How good was it from Ben Foakes not to concede a bye on this?

Leach is facing up to a remarkable field with four close fielders between slip and silly mid-off on the off side.

Kohli is one of them. He removes the helmet at the end of the over, tosses it towards a team-mate and it comes thudding down onto the pitch. He holds out a hand to question why no-one caught it. I don't think they were looking.

We have to absolutely recognise what Rohit Sharma did, his innings of 161 looks increasingly extraordinary. He showed wonderful skill and the ability to hit every bad ball for four.
