    Surrey 672-8 dec v Leicestershire 375 & 136-2

Leicestershire pair Colin Ackermann (28 not out) and Hassan Azad (69 not out) continue to chug along in the sunshine at The Oval.

The Foxes still trail by 161 runs but this half-century partnership has settled everything back down after Jordan Clark's two wickets in two balls earlier in the day.

    Derbyshire 390 & 312-5 dec v Worcestershire 305 & 58-3

Meanwhile, Derbyshire have another wicket as Tom Fell, who top-scored with 69 for the Pears in the first innings, is removed by Fynn Hudson-Prentice.

Derbyshire need seven wickets in a little under two sessions. Worcestershire need 340 runs.

    Glamorgan 285 & 346-8 v Sussex 481

    Timm van der Gugten survives.

A brilliant spell for Ollie Robinson who has figures of 7-78.

Callum Taylor remains unbeaten on 82.

Two in two for Ollie Robinson! He has a seven-for and a hat-trick chance coming up.

    Glamorgan 285 & 346-7 v Sussex 481

And there's a breakthrough straight after lunch for Sussex too.

Ollie Robinson now has a six-for and Dan Douthwaite goes for 26.

Glamorgan holding on, their lead is 150.

  6. wicket

WICKET Lamb (b Paterson) 50published at 14:06 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire 273 & 260 v Warwickshire 201-9 & 181-5

What a delivery from Dane Paterson who beats Matthew Lamb for pace straight after the Warwickshire batsman reaches his 50.

Michael Burgess, yet to get off the mark, is joined by Tim Bresnan in the middle.

The Bears need another 152 to win. In the balance.

  7. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire 273 & 260 v Warwickshire 201-9 & 181-4

Just heading back to Trent Bridge, it looks like Warwickshire's rate has slowed down a fair bit.

If the Bears really are batting for a draw, we may get to a situation where Dom Sibley returns to bat at number 11.

The England international hasn't been seen since day one after fracturing a finger.

He's done it. A maiden 50 for Matthew Milnes comes off 111 balls with 10 fours.

Kent need an unlikely 321 runs to win.

  9. wicket

WICKET Hain (c Moores b Paterson) 57published at 13:50 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Nottinghamshire 273 & 260 v Warwickshire 201-9 & 174-4

Really important moment at Trent Bridge.

Warwickshire's hopes of an unlikely victory take a huge blow as the Bears' rock Sam Hain falls for 57 off 153 balls.

Michael Burgess joins Matthew Lamb (43 not out) at the crease.

  10. Postpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Kent 265-9 & 119-5 v Yorkshire 379 & 330-5 dec

Dom Bess starts with a maiden. He's bowled some tight stuff conceding just 12 runs from his eight overs.

I'm sure he'd like to add a wicket though.

Nightwatchman Matthew Milnes is four away from his maiden First-class half-century. Ollie Robinson has 10 not out.

Here we go then. Day four session two. Six games still to be decided.

  12. 'A wonderful display of concentration'published at 13:32 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Lancashire 305 & 296-7 dec v Northamptonshire 177 & 107-6

    Scott Read

Men around the bat, spin at both ends, batsmen almost constantly on the front foot in defensive and a scene which dominated the last hour of the morning session and will be replicated throughout the afternoon.

However, neither Matt Parkinson or Tom Hartley have been able to cause Luke Procter too much concern.

A wonderful display of concentration and defensive play has seen the former Lancashire man bat through the session to get to lunch unbeaten on 30.

  13. 'Glamorgan inching towards draw'published at 13:25 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Glamorgan 285 & 332-6 v Sussex 481

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Radio Sussex

Glamorgan are inching their way towards what would be an unlikely draw in Cardiff.

The hosts have lost just one wicket this morning, when Kiran Carlson became Ollie Robinson’s ninth victim of the match.

Carlson made 132, and a magnificent 257 runs in the match.

However, since then Callum Taylor and Dan Douthwaite have dug in and, although Sussex are still favourites, time is just starting to ebb away for the visitors.

  14. 'The headlines will be about Essex'published at 13:18 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

Essex beat Durham by 44 runs

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

The headlines will all be about brilliant Essex and how the reigning champions fought back after being bowled out for 96 on day one. And I can understand that.

But from a Durham perspective this was the one that got away. And as many predicted it was their in-experience against the spin of Simon Harmer which cost them.

They lost seven wickets for 40 runs and ended up losing a game they had dominated for large parts by 44 runs.

There were two key elements to this defeat. They lost four wickets for three runs in the dark on day one when I don't think they should have been on the pitch. That always had the potential to come back and bite them.

And on Saturday morning they didn't bowl well enough when chasing the final four wickets in the Essex second innings. 168 was always going to be a tough ask and so it proved to be.

They have now failed to win a Championship match in nine attempts. And it's another slow start for them. You can't afford mistakes like this in conference cricket.

  15. Lunchpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

Lunch at Trent Bridge and remarkably Warwickshire are halfway there.

The Bears have lost just three wickets in their pursuit of 333 on day four.

Sam Hain (55 not out) and Matthew Lamb (40 not out) remain unbeaten as they head to the dressing room.

  16. Lunchpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Surrey 672-8 dec v Leicestershire 375 & 97-2

After Jordan Clark threatened a Leicestershire wobble with two wickets in two balls halfway through the morning, Hassan Azad has remained the constant to keep any Foxes nerves at bay.

He lunches unbeaten on 52. A draw remains the most likely result.

    Breaking

    Gloucestershire 309 & 156-2 beat Somerset 312 & 149 by eight wickets

Gloucestershire's first County Championship win at Somerset for 28 years!

James Bracey is the star of the show, adding an unbeaten 83 to his first-innings 118 to steer his side to a memorable victory.

Credit, too, to Ryan Higgins, whose seven wickets in the match also proved hugely important.

That's two wins from two for Gloucestershire.

    Five wickets needed for victory.

  20. Lunchpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 18 April 2021

    Glamorgan 285 & 332-6 v Sussex 481

Lunch at Sophia Gardens and Glamorgan lead by 136 runs.

After the early dismissal of Carlson for 132, the seventh-wicket stand between Callum Taylor (72 not out) and Dan Douthwaite (23 not out) has moved on to 65, keeping the hosts in this match.
