  1. Kent all outpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 307 v Glamorgan

Miguel Cummins broke free of the shackles with Darren Stevens gone.

He pulled Dan Douthwaite through midwicket for four before dragging Marnus Labuschagne into his stumps.

That's one of Kent's better first-innings efforts this season but solely down to a magical innings from one man.

They have plenty to bowl at now and don't rule out a few wickets for Daz today either.

  2. 300 runs

    Kent 307-9 v Glamorgan

    But Kent aren't done yet.

First ball Matt Quinn has swung Marnus Labuschagne over long-on for six!

    There's a third batting point.

Tries to go down the ground again and this time picks out long-on!

Marnus Labuschagne finally ends a truly wonderful innings from Darren Stevens - the sixth-highest of his Championship career.

He arrived with his side 80-5 and then saw them slump to 92-7 and 128-8 but this counter-attack has been extraordinary.

    149 balls, 15 fours and 15 sixes.

Outrageous stuff to haul Kent back from the brink and then some.

    Kent 294-8 v Glamorgan

    There's no stopping Darren Stevens.

Marnus Labuschagne tries to bounce him!

Stevens responds later in the over with a slam down the ground, all the way along the ground for four.

Then next ball, Labuschagne bangs it in again so Stevens waits and opens the face to take four more to third man.

Miguel Cummins then faces his 50th ball at the other end!

He's only made one but this is a tremendous knock from the number 10.

  5. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 283-8 v Glamorgan

Darren Stevens walks at David Lloyd and whips a length ball to fine leg for four.

    Then he's at Marnus Labuschagne.

A slog sweep finds the deep-square fence for four.

And then a 15th six - straight down the ground sweet as a nut.

  6. No play Friday at Bristolpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Glos v Somerset 45-1

As suggested, the inspection at Bristol was just indeed to confirm that no play is possible today at Nevil Road.

  7. Postpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 264-8 v Glamorgan

Who wants a go now for Glamorgan?

Darren Stevens launches a 14th six!

He shimmies down the wicket and slams Michael Hogan over his head.

Marnus Labuschagne is thrown the ball for some very part-time leg spin.

This wonderful barrage continues from Darren Stevens.

He pulls David Lloyd over midwicket and next ball hoists him over long-off. 13 sixes now!

A single takes him to 150 and gives Kent another batting point.

He's taken only 24 balls to go from 100 to 150.

The ninth 150-plus score of his career.

  9. 15:00 BST inspection at Bristolpublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Glos v Somerset 45-1

Well I had Bristol down as a complete write off today.

The umpires are going to have a look at 3pm which suggests it's at least stopped raining.

But it could be a check to confirm no play is possible.

    Kent 229-8 v Glamorgan

    The Darren Stevens show continues!

He's down on one-knee to lift Andrew Salter over long-off for his ninth maximum.

And then slugs him over midwicket and then over long-on.

Three sixes in the over and the hundred partnership is now up!

Glamorgan seemingly powerless to stop this onslaught.

  11. rain stops play

Play abandoned at Northantspublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Northants v Lancs 59-0

    Hardly surprising.

With the rain unrelenting in Northampton, they've called it off for the day.

Thankfully prospects are a bit brighter tomorrow.

What a wonderful counter-attack this has been.

Another famous afternoon in the career of 45-year-old Darren Stevens.

He takes Michael Hogan for back-to-back boundaries to reach his 36th first-class hundred.

This in 92 balls with nine fours and seven sixes.

He takes a sighter and then launches Hogan for six more!

Darren Stevens whacks Timm van der Gugten for his fifth six.

He takes a full ball from outside off and hoists it over deep square.

This is great hitting and raises a half-century stand for the ninth wicket - of which Miguel Cummins has contributed 1!

But valuable resistance to allow Stevens to extend the total.

Andrew Salter's off-spin is given a go but he's gone over long-on and then deep-midwicket!

Looking at the rain map, I'm not hopeful.

    Kent 164-8 v Glamorgan

This is becoming rather annoying for Glamorgan who were on the verge of rolling Kent just before lunch.

Darren Stevens, now on 64, has flicked Michael Neser over square leg for six and adds a fourth maximum with a straight drive against Timm van der Gugten.

Great stuff and beginning to put at least a reasonable number on the board.

You don't win many games with only 120 but you might win a few with 180.

They were hoping to have an inspection at 13:40 BST at Trent Bridge - but it's started raining again.

Just a reminder that seven of our eight games have been affected by rain today, apart from Kent v Glamorgan.

They've already called things off at Derbyshire.

  18. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 150-8 v Glamorgan

An excellent morning for Glamorgan reducing Kent to 92-7.

But Darren Stevens is leading a little fightback has has reached a free-flowing half-century just before lunch.

Another top-edged pull for six over fine leg and a lofted drive for four off Dan Douthwaite.

Then a charge down the wicket and a edge to third man for four more.

Stevens enjoyed a great start to the season with a century at Northampton and 52 and 47 against Yorkshire.

But since then, six single-figure scores including three ducks so this is a very welcome return to form just when his side were on the verge of being routed again.

  19. Play abandoned at Derbypublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Derbys 48-0 v Durham

With the rain still falling and no prospect of conditions improving today, they've decided to call things off at Derby.

I'd expect a few more to follow in the next couple of hours.

Michael Neser with swift revenge on Nathan Gilchrist.

Full and straight and Gilchrist simply misses to be plumb lbw.

Glamorgan will hope to have the job done before lunch now.
