  1. Early wicket for Hantspublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Hants 233 v Leics 5-1

Kyle Abbott has just removed Leicestershire opener Hassan Azad, lbw, without scoring.

Tricky batting conditions today. Although, it's not easy being a pace bowler in this howling wind.

  2. Postpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 84-5 v Glamorgan

This is a great start to the day for Glamorgan.

Australian Michael Neser has picked up two more wickets.

He's bowled Jordan Cox with one that's come back down the slope and then trapped Daniel Bell-Drummond with a full, straight delivery.

No joy for Bell-Drummond having been shunted down the order for this game.

  3. wicket

Warwickshire all outpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Essex v Warwickshire 166

Sam Cook finishes the Bears' first innings as Tim Bresnan pushes at one and edges to Alastair Cook in the slips.

    Bresnan goes for exactly 50.

Cook has 3-48, but the star man has been Peter Siddle. 6-38 for the 36-year-old Australian.

    Hants 233 v Leics 0-0

Leicestershire openers Hassan Azad and Sam Evans stride out to begin their side's first innings with the gloom closing in at The Ageas Bowl.

How much more play will we get?

  5. Postpublished at 11:29 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Essex v Warwickshire 166-9

Oliver Hannon-Dalby survives Peter Siddle's hat-trick ball with a solid defensive shot. But the paceman is now hunting his seventh wicket to finish the innings.

    Norwell b Siddle 0 (Essex v Warwickshire 166-9)

Make that six wickets for Pete, and he's on a hat-trick!

Siddle cleans up Liam Norwell first ball and now has 6-38. Brilliant from the Aussie.

  7. Five-wicket haulpublished at 11:26 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

Five wickets for Essex paceman Peter Siddle!

Danny Briggs cuts the Australian to point where Paul Walter takes a diving catch.

    Siddle has 5-38.

  8. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Surrey 164-6 v Middlesex

What can Surrey find down the order this morning?

Everything was so sweet from them yesterday at 135-0 but the most dramatic of collapses ruined all that early good work.

Hashim Amla is still there though and if he finds some support, a steady number is still possible from this first innings.

But it's the veteran Rikki Clarke who has began fluently with three boundaries.

  9. 50 runs

for Bresnanpublished at 11:23 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Essex v Warwickshire 165-7

Former England all-rounder Tim Bresnan brings up his half-century early on day two at Chelmsford.

It's the 43rd time in first-class cricket he's gone past fifty.

Handy cricketer to have in your ranks is the 36-year-old.

  10. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Essex v Warwickshire 161-7

Sound the action klaxon - we have cricket at Essex!

  11. wicket

Hampshire all outpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Hants 233 v Leics

And that's Hampshire's first innings done and dusted as Leicestershire take three quick wickets this morning.

Brad Wheal is the last man to go, poking to slip, as Ed Barnes picks up his fourth wicket.

  12. Postpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Kent 73-3 v Glamorgan

Glamorgan began poorly with the ball yesterday afternoon but improved to pick up two wickets before the close.

They have another early on day three as Michel Neser traps Jack Leaning lbw with a full, straight delivery.

Sam Billings now at the crease making his first appearance of the season having departed from the IPL.

  13. 12:00 BST inspection at Trent Bridgepublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Notts 51-3 v Worcs

It's dried up in Nottingham for the time being, so the umpires are hoping to take a look in about 45 minutes.

Again, there are no guarantees this will happen today!

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Abbott lbw b Wright 5 (Hants 233-9 v Leics)

    One to go for Leicestershire.

Chris Wright gets his second wicket of the over as the paceman pins Kyle Abbott lbw with a jaffa that nips in off the seam.

I'm not sure how much longer they'll be out there mind, with a mass of rain approaching Southampton from the west.

  15. 11:15 BST start at Chelmsfordpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Essex v Warwickshire 159-7

They're hoping to get under way in five minutes at Essex.

The forecast isn't looking great but we'll take whatever we can get today!

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

    Barker c Patel b Wright 24 (Hants 232-8 v Leics)

Keith Barker falls early on day three at The Ageas Bowl.

The left-hander gets a leading edge off Chris Wright and is caught in the covers.

They're a day ahead of the rest of the games here having started on Wednesday.

  17. Postpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 21 May 2021

So, it looks like we've got some cricket at Hampshire, Kent and Surrey.

Delays at Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Notts and Northants and Essex.

Wouldn't mind a bit of summer now.
