A terrific effort from 20-year-old Jack Carson, and 19-year-old Henry Crocombe, who added 99 for the Sussex ninth wicket.

Both made highest first-class scores, Carson made his maiden first-class half-century, whilst Crocombe was left stranded on 46

Ben Sanderson, who took 5- 45, has now taken 15 wickets against Sussex this season, and has also taken 37 wickets against Sussex in just seven first-class matches.

    Duke c Vilas b Bailey 52 (Yorkshire 121-9 v Lancashire)

As so often happens after a long partnership, one batsman goes and the other follows.

In the next over after Steve Patterson's departure, in fact just four balls later, Tom Bailey returns to find Harry Duke's edge - a third wicket for the Lancashire paceman.

Recalled Duanne Olivier is the new man in to join Coad.

  14. wicket

Breakthrough at Old Traffordpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 27 May 2021

    Patterson b Parkinson 27 (Yorkshire 127-8 v Lancashire)

Finally a breakthrough for Lancashire at Old Trafford as Matt Parkinson bowls Steve Patterson.

The Yorkshire skipper had just started to chance his arm and play some shots, having hit a six and a four in the previous over but this time Parky gets one through and his 77-run stand with teenage wicketkeeper Harry Duke is over.

Duke remains on 52, while new man Ben Coad's first scoring shot is a boundary.

    Warwickshire 138-2 v Notts

Will Rhodes has now moved on to 80, while Sam Hain has made 21.

It's quite slow progress at Edgbaston as the Bears have taken 53 overs to get to 138-2, but these could be important runs in this battle of 4th v 1st in Group One.

  16. Maiden half-century for Harry Dukepublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 27 May 2021

    Yorkshire 100-7 v Lancashire

Not even the introduction of spinner Matt Parkinson into the previously all-seam attack had had an effect.

From 40-7 in the 18th over, this Yorkshire eighth-wicket pair have now batted for 30 overs.

But Lancashire have put three chances down, including one off Duke at leg slip.

Michael Pepper continues to build upon his best-ever first-class score, now on 69 from 134 balls, but Ryan ten Doeschate has been dismissed by Scott Borthwick for eight at the other end.

    Essex are 140-5 at Chester-le-Street.

  19. 50 partnership for Duke & Pattersonpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 27 May 2021

    Yorkshire 94-7 v Lancashire

Excellent effort from Harry Duke and Steve Patterson at Old Trafford.

From a first-baller on his first-class debut a fortnight ago at Sophia Gardens, Duke is now just two short of a maiden fifty.

Between them, he and Patterson (10) have more than doubled the score - and, after taking wickets at will this morning, Lancashire now must wonder where the next one is coming from.

  20. Glos continue to take wicketspublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 27 May 2021

    Surrey 133-4 v Gloucestershire

Hashim Amla remains unbeaten on 39, but there's been plenty happening down the other end.

Laurie Evans is the latest man to fall for six and, from a comfortable 105-1, Surrey are 133-4.

    Excellent fightback from Gloucestershire here.
