    This wasn't in the script. The London rain is persistent and reasonably heavy. It's forecast for most of the day, too. Certainly there's no chance of starting on time and if/when we do get play, you'd probably want to be bowling.

    While we wait, let's remind ourselves what happened on day two. It was a pretty good day for England.

    They bowled New Zealand out for 378 and then, after falling to 18-2, recovered to 111-2 at the close with Rory Burns and Joe Root unbeaten.

    It was still a memorable day for New Zealand's Devon Conway who notched up a double hundred on debut.
