A solid defensive stroke from Anderson hands the strike back to Rory Burns.

The crowd has come to life. Again, this is a handy last-wicket partnership.

Jimmy Anderson is stepping away and trying to slog now. I love cricket.

Rory Burns is smashing the ball around Lord's in a Test match. What is this magic?

He drives a second successive four but it does leave James Anderson on strike.

Burns turns down a couple of single and then finds the boundary again with a guided prod down through the slips.

Lord's settles down again after that moment of celebration. A lovely, lovely moment for Burns.

A ball later Wagner serves up a full toss and Burns bats it away expertly.

Every run he can get now is important for the game too, taking out time New Zealand will spend setting a target later this afternoon.

Any hundred in a Test at Lord's is a fantastic achievement. We could have two left-handers close to carrying their bat in this match.

He looks delighted. It has been a battle - a real battle. He's had some luck, but that doesn't matter. Mrs Burns is in the crowd with little baby Burns, who has seen Daddy score a hundred at Lord's.

A third Test hundred for Rory Burns!

It has been a bad day for England but the opener has scrapped his way to a gritty hundred, his first since 2019. It gets him on the famous Lord's honour's board too.

There are broad smiles on the England balcony.

Now Burns has got the strike. Does he take a single if they offer him that opportunity?

"Oh Jimmy, Jimmy," chant the crowd. This is the loudest they've been all day.

England's number 11 fends the final ball awkwardly but safely.
