Just six runs come from the over.

Eoin Morgan gets off the mark with three runs from his first two balls.

The pressure is back on Middlesex in the run chase.

Daniel Moriarty is continuing, with the spin proving a fruitful strategy for the visitors at the moment.

    Never in doubt.

    Stirling run out (T Curran) 58 (Middlesex 87-1 v Surrey 223-7)

This spell of spin from Gareth Batty has just left Middlesex scrabbling around for runs.

And it catches out Paul Stirling, as a sharp piece of fielding at short third man catches the Irishman out of his crease.

Stirling departs for a fine 58, bringing England limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan to the crease.

  5. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Middlesex 85-0 v Surrey 223-7

More spin, this time from left-armer Daniel Moriarty, keeps the pressure on Middlesex.

He took 17 wickets in the T20 Blast last season, and starts well.

Two singles come off his first two balls, and then he beats Stevie Eskinazi twice outside the off stump.

But then Paul Stirling drives the final ball to the boundary for four. It's a good contest between bat and ball.

  6. Yorkshire beat Birmingham by six wicketspublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 10 June 2021
    Breaking

    Yorkshire 147-4 v Birmingham Bears 144-8

Will Fraine smashes Tim Bresnan for four and Yorkshire stroll over the line with nine balls to spare.

A fine chase, although Birmingham were probably always 20-30 runs short.

  7. 50 runs

for Scott Steelpublished at 21:14 British Summer Time 10 June 2021

    Lancashire 172-8 v Leicestershire 149-5

Leicestershire's Scott Steel moves to 50 off 48.

I don't think it'll be enough to see the Foxes over the line though.

    One over remains. 26 needed.

  8. 6 runs

Postpublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 10 June 2021

    Yorkshire 141-4 v Birmingham 144-8

A huge six from Will Fraine. Yorkshire need just four more from two overs.

  9. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Middlesex 78-0 v Surrey 223-7

Surrey captain Gareth Batty steps up tom try and halt the Middlesex charge.

Again, it's a story of singles - three of them to start the over.

Then Batty pins Paul Stirling as the Irishman looks to come down the pitch.

The spinner shows his experienced to mix it up, and Middlesex can only add two more singles.

A good response by the visitors to that powerplay.

  10. Postpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 10 June 2021

    Lancashire 172-8 v Leicestershire 141-5

Six and out for Rishi Patel who blasts a maximum off Matty Parkinson before the spinner gets his revenge removing the youngster off the very next ball.

Leicestershire need 33 from 13. It's going to be close. Ben Mike joins Scott Steel (46 not out) in the middle.

  11. 50 runs

    for Stirlingpublished at 6 overs

    Middlesex 73-0 v Surrey 223-7

Matt Dunn is handed the duties for the last ball of the powerplan, and restricts Middlesex to singles off the first four balls with full deliveries.

But then he bowls a length delivery which Paul Stirling smashes back down the ground for six.

And Stirling again demonstrates his power, with a second six off the final ball.

That brings up his half-century, from 22 balls. Game on, and Middlesex are well in the hunt.

  12. Postpublished at 21:07 British Summer Time 10 June 2021

    Yorkshire 118-4 v Birmingham 144-8

    Hope for the Bears?

Carlos Brathwaite has his first Birmingham T20 Blast wicket as Harry Brook is caught at long-on for 24.

Yorkshire need 27 from 23. A couple more wickets and they could really start to wobble.

  13. Postpublished at 5 overs

    Middlesex 57-0 v Surrey 223-7

The 50 comes up for Middlesex inside five overs, and Paul Stirling is enjoying himself.

The Irishman edges Jordan Clark to the boundary for four, and then Stirling pulls a powerful strike to deep midwicket for six.

He has 37 from 18 balls. Stevie Eskinazi is 17 not out.

Middlesex have had a decent start, and have one more over of the powerplay to capitalise on.

Leicestershire are back in it thanks to thumping sixes from both Scott Steel (43 not out) and Rishi Patel (25 not out) in the space of three deliveries.

The Foxes need 43 off 20. Not out of the question.

  16. Postpublished at 4 overs

    Middlesex 44-0 v Surrey 223-7

A switch of ends for Sam Curran, and it doesn't work at all for the left-armer.

Eighteen runs come from it, to drag Middlesex back towards the required rate.

An attempted slower ball goes down the leg side and Paul Stirling sweeps it to the long leg boundary.

Stevie Eskinazi then gets in on the act, pulling to the short boundary for the right-hander.

It's back-to-back boundaries as Eskinazi edges down to third man.

Curran throws in a wide down the leg side and then a short ball is top-edged for four behind the keeper.

  17. Postpublished at 20:57 British Summer Time 10 June 2021

    Yorkshire 106-3 v Birmingham 144-8

100 up for Yorkshire as Tom Kohler-Cadmore smacks Jake Lintott for four.

Just 39 needed off 36 balls now. You feel Birmingham's only avenue to victory is to bowl their opponents out.

    Middlesex 26-0 v Surrey 223-7

Will Jacks, after his 70 off 24 balls with the bat, is on for some early spin in the powerplay.

Paul Stirling attacks, driving through extra cover for four, but then can't quite pull off an attempted sweep.

Middlesex take 10 from the over in the end, and need to keep things steady given the target they are chasing.

    Lancashire 172-8 v Leicestershire 88-4

It goes from bad to worse for Leicestershire as new batsman Lewis Hill is caught off the bowling of Tom Hartley for one.

86 now required off 46 for the visitors.

  20. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 2 overs

    Middlesex 16-0 v Surrey 223-7

This is more like it from Middlesex.

Paul Stirling shows good hands to crack one from Matt Dunn over the circle and register the first four of the innings.

Then there are a couple of edges down towards third man which are cut out by Daniel Moriarty inside the circle.

Stirling then grabs a big six, hitting straight through the ball and back down the ground.
