Sharma 1, Verma 35
Verma did get a nasty inside-edge onto her thigh earlier in that over, not that she flinched at all.
Ruthless.
Another late-cut for four from Verma. Are you bored of hearing about how good she is yet?
I'm not, so I'm just going to say I could watch that shot on loop all day.
What is Katherine Brunt up to here?!
It's never boring when she's on the pitch, that's for sure.
Sharma 1, Verma 30
Another maiden is blocked out by Deepti Sharma.
The contrast in the approach of these two batters is pretty remarkable.

That boundary was a beautiful, beautiful shot. She did almost nothing other than place the bat on the ball. It's outstanding to watch.
Oh and she's done exactly the same thing again. Shrubsole is livid with herself, she closes her eyes and tilts her head back in fury but it's not even a bad ball.
It's just a glorious shot.
We've seen that plenty of times now but Verma just leans on a wide-ish delivery from Shrubsole and guides it effortlessly past backward point for four.
I have a feeling we'll have a clip of that one for you pretty soon.
Sharma 1, Verma 22
England are doing well to starve Shafali Verma of the strike here.
Which, from a spectator's point of view, is a real shame because I think we've noticed by now that she is quite fun to watch, no?

Bad news. It's raining again in Southampton.

Umpire Sue Redfern has just had a little word with Deepti Sharma, basically saying get on with it, it seems. She has been fiddling with her gloves and helmet during deliveries.
Deepti Sharma has been promoted from number eight to three, maybe because of her solidity this morning but also to maintain the left and right-handed combination for India.
Another maiden but Sharma defends comfortably, although there is definitely some swing for Shrubsole.

She put her arms out to say sorry but that's not a good look, I'm afraid. I think Brunt probably feels a bit embarrassed.
Brunt vs Verma again, what we've all been waiting for.
I was just typing that there were none of yesterday's fireworks because just one comes off the over, but Brunt out of nowhere throws the ball straight back at Verma in her follow through and it's hit her.
Apologies from Brunt, and a bit of a frosty cold shoulder from the batter.

Verma is 17 and looks like she's been playing cricket for India for years and years. She's just so comfortable.
Sharma 0, Verma 21
Just the single to Verma off the first ball, Sharma solidly defends the rest of the over.
Sharma was the only member of India's middle order to look close to fluent this morning.
Snehal Pradhan
Ex-India seamer on BBC Test Match Special
The first innings was freakish from India, particularly in contrast to the platform their openers gave them. I think we will see more skill and experience from their middle order today. There is fight there and I don't think they will catch up with England now, but they will show some fight.
Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma are out there for India, Katherine Brunt bowls three dot balls to complete her over that was disrupted by Mandhana's wicket before lunch.
A wicket maiden.
Very happy to have an excuse to get that Brunt delivery in once more, I don't think I'll ever get bored of watching that.
Meanwhile, the players are making their way back out, white woolly jumpers galore. I don't blame them, it is not cricket weather at all.
