England have scored just 18 runs from the last 14 overs.
Stokes 0, Pope 1
Pope scurries forward and back to Lyon, trying to squeeze the ball into gaps. The Australians are right on it now, sensing their moment. Fielders swoop in to prevent any singles.
If you've just woken up bright and early on this Saturday morning, you haven't timed it very well in terms of England's batting hopes.
Well, it started perfectly. Both Root and Malan made fifties and batted through the entirety of the first session and looked like they could bat all day.
But... they've both got out. They both edged balls to slip that they could've probably left.
The Adelaide pitch was looking like a dream for batting and to be honest, conditions couldn't be much better. But the lunch break has reenergised Australia and it all of a sudden is spinning, swinging and bouncing all over the place.
Ben Stokes and Ollie Pope are at the crease for England.

Ollie Pope has a lot of ability, but he's yet to really prove himself. He seems to get very anxious if he doesn't score for a while and that starts to show.
It's something the coaches need to work on with him.

This feels like a big innings for Ollie Pope, particularly against Nathan Lyon. A scampered single to Starc gets him off the mark but he'll be on strike against Australia's spinner next.

WollC: A load of English wickets should really be called a Slaughter.
Stokes 0, Pope 0
England's scoring has ground to a halt like a car chugging through it's final moments. Stokes sweeps and misses. Stokes cuts... and misses.

Half an hour ago Root and Malan were cruising along with an unbeaten century partnership. Now Ollie Pope joins Ben Stokes in the middle - both on zero.

Root and Malan both played beautifully at The Gabba and got themselves out when they were set. They've done exactly the same thing again, both playing at balls they probably didn't need to.

Two quick wickets for Australia and England are right back under pressure. More catching practice for Steve Smith.
Malan c Smith b Starc 80 (Eng 157-4)
Sigh. Get in and get out. You can't be doing it.
Dawid Malan cuts Mitchell Starc for four once and then tries to repeat the shot a ball later. This one is a little closer to him and it's slice off an edge to Steve Smith. It wasn't an easy catch but Smith is so good there. He snaffles it with little fuss.
Cameron Green's spell is done, he is replaced by Mitchell Starc, but he has changed the whole feel of this day...
Malan 76, Stokes 0
Runs! Three of them, all off the bat of Dawid Malan. Joe Root was annoying Nathan Lyon earlier, swatting him off his length like he might swish away a pesky fly, but now Australia's spinner is into his groove against two left-handers.
If you're just waking up bright and early on a Saturday morning in the UK to catch up with England's progress, it started off very well but things are just getting a little twitchy.
Joe Root and Dawid Malan added a century partnership and got through to lunch without losing a wicket and they both played beautifully.
But the break invigorated Australia and England's captain was dismissed for 62 not long ago.
Ben Stokes has joined Malan at the crease, who has worked his way to 73.
The batting conditions are perfect, though, so if Stokes and Malan can survive this tricky period of Australian energy, runs should be able to start flowing again - especially with no Pat Cummins or Josh Hazlewood in the attack.

Dawid Malan has got to try and resist Nathan Lyon here, who crucially now has two left handers to bowl at.
That's about the height of two James Taylors!
It's 31 balls now since England scored a run. There were four maidens in a session before lunch. Five in a row afterwards.

Cameron Green releases the ball from an average height of 2.61 metres. He's just ahead of Steven Finn by 22 millimetres.
Malan 73, Stokes 0
Cameron Green is 22 years old and certainly doesn't look any older. His cheeks are reddening as he pounds away. Ben Stokes tries to ramp a bouncer over the keeper. Not his wisest moment.
