Man of the match Australia bowler Scott Boland, who took 6-7 in the second innings on debut:"I thought we had a good chance of winning coming here today, but I didn't think it would happen that quickly.
"I found out on Christmas Eve, about 17:30, and told some friends, family and team-mates and had heaps of support. I thought it would be tough because it is a huge step up from the stuff I've played before but I wanted to have a little impact.
"I'd like to thank the crowd for their support in the last three days - I really appreciate it."
Australia captain Pat Cummins: "It's pretty insane, just an awesome few weeks. I'm so proud of the group here. Everything's worked out. Happy for Scotty in front of his home crowd. What an incredible feeling.
"We've been relentless when we’ve had to be. The bowlers have bowled in a good area and the batters earned their runs. They've earned the right to bat long, they left well and they've all contributed. It’s a great feeling.
"There are guys like Michael Neser who I’m really disappointed didn't get a chance after bowling well last week but it’s a good sign of the strength of the Australian squad. We know whoever steps in will do a great job, we're in a great place.
"We were really confident Scotty would do a great job. Maybe not 6-7! Any Ashes series is when you try and make a mark on your Test career. Last series was 4-0, one before that was 5-0. These go down in Ashes history and we can cement our identity as a team for the next few years."

It does feel embarrassing as a player and you do feel down as a player.
I didn't think the gap was that big before the series but I almost think it is bigger than we are willing to admit. I can't remember many sessions we have won in this series.
We have been off the pace and we've got some soul searching to do.

More from Joe Root: "Yesterday with the positive Covid tests wasn't ideal, but I actually thought the way we went about our cricket on the field was excellent. The bowling group and the way we went about it was as good as we've gone about it all trip. We put them under pressure and got ourselves in a position where we were really in the Test match so credit to the guys for fronting up and being able to manage that with everything else going on.
"We need to be more like that throughout the final two games."
Here's the moment that England lost the third Ashes Test and Australia wrapped up the series with two games still to go.
England captain Joe Root: "We've been playing in this times for a while and we've almost had to come to terms to be dealing with this sort of environment. All you can do is try and front up to it and concentrate of putting in good performances on the field and credit to Australia, they blew us away last night and have outplayed us in this Test and in the series so far.
"We've got a lot of hard work to do to make sure we come back in the last two games."

Jambarrell: Sometimes you need to hit rock bottom in order to make the necessary changes. I just hope this is now rock bottom!
That 68 all out was England's ninth lowest score against Australia in Test cricket.
There was a 67 all out at Headingley in 2019, so England are improving...
(I'm joking, don't come for me).

It is embarrassing - there was no fight this morning.
There are careers on the line.

Australia are just way ahead of England and have outplayed us in all three games. They have just been well ahead of us and we were poor.
We paid the price today for not batting well in the first innings.
Australian debutant Scott Boland finished with figures of 6-7 in this second innings.
He records match figures of 7-55.
He is walking round his home ground with a stump under his arm. He'll have loved this.
England were 60-5 and have been bowled out for 68.
The final five wickets fell in 4.5 overs.
What can you actually say? I know I am paid to speak and give you words, but I'm out of them right now.

I'm almost in shock. I don't think anyone saw that coming. The players will be embarrassed. It will be a quiet dressing room.
England were said to have had "honest conversations" after the second Test and given a "kick up the bum" by Chris Silverwood.
Can I suggest it wasn't harsh enough?
The bowlers battled hard yesterday and dragged their side back into this game, but their colleagues couldn't even get to 82 and make Australia bat again. There are going to be very awkward conversations in the next few hours and days.
Will England lose this series 5-0?
Thumbs up for yes, thumbs down for no.
Anderson b Green 2 (Eng 68 all out)
Australia have retained the Ashes... get yourself some kip.
A decent delivery from Cameron Green gets through the defence of James Anderson and rattles the stumps.
England lose by an innings and 14 runs and are now 3-0 down in the Ashes.
A damning, embarrassing, scarcely believable 80 minutes this morning.
