Ben Naylor: Pope is going to circumvent his way back into the side as a wicketkeeper here.

You'd be very surprised if Australia weren't talking about pushing on the scoring rate for an hour after tea and then putting England under serious pressure in the final 90 minutes.

    Cheers, Callum.

Let's face it, Australia have enough.

Time for me to go and have a break. I'm going to throw some water on my face in the hope it perks me up a bit.

TMS are talking to Sam Billings during the tea interval - he's still got two hours of his mammoth nine-hour journey to join up with the England squad.

    Australia are in control.

Australia added 83 runs and lost two wickets in the afternoon session. Their lead is 271 runs.

Do they attack in the evening session and then have a short dart at England?

It surprised Pope more than Khawaja. Khawaja made the signal of one for the over!

Oh wow. Joe Root finishes his over with a 70mph bouncer. Usman Khawaja ducks underneath it and Ollie Pope just sticks a hand up to collect it.

Just a single from the over and that is the afternoon session done. Time for a cucumber sandwich and a cup of tea.

Joe Root has brought himself on, for what should be the final over before tea.

Jack Daniels: I keep hearing that the Aussies are going too slow. Let’s face it, they only need two sessions tomorrow to skittle us out

Three singles from Jack Leach's over.

He's smiling and enjoying his work in this innings. It's nice to see to be fair. Leach has had a difficult 18-24 months, with being in and out of the England team and spending a lot of time in bio-secure bubbles without playing.

Usman Khawaja is having a very good return to the Australia team. He said he was fully expecting to just fill in for Travis Head in this Test and then drop out again, but jeeze.

He finds the gap in the off-side field to pick up two more and move to 34. That's to go with his first-innings century.

    Five minutes until tea.

Alex Rogers: Call me a pessimist but if Leach is getting wickets what will Lyon do?!

  17. Aus 143-4published at 45 overs

    Lead by 265

Jack Leach has held up an end pretty well for England in this innings. He hasn't been able to build proper pressure with dot-balls and maidens, but he's been tidy enough to allow Joe Root to rotate his pace men at the other end.

    Three from the over.

That's the advantage of the size of Cameron Green. He can turn balls on a good length into half-volleys. He's much like Shane Watson on his best form, someone who wants to get on the front foot.

  19. Aus 140-4published at 44 overs

    Lead by 262

Lovely. Cameron Green gets on the front foot and punches James Anderson straight back down the ground for a glorious four. Superb shot, that.

Four more. The all-rounder then hacks a pull to the long-on boundary.

    A sign of intent.

It was just a two-over burst for Mark Wood. James Anderson is going to have a bowl.
