England have been brilliant - 52 runs came off the first 10 overs, and 32 off the next 10. England have really dragged themselves back into this game.

  2. NZ 85-1published at 21 overs

Amy Satterthwaite is struggling to find the gaps off Charlie Dean's spin.

Dean concedes just one of the over. Tight stuff.

Thanks Tim. Enjoying the love for the Lake District.

A top National Park that. Almost half as good as the Peaks! ;)

  4. NZ 83-1published at 20 overs

I know bad reviews when I see them as I've had a few myself.

Anyway, all set to race in from the pavilion end off his long run for the rest of the innings and making his international live text debut is Josef Rindl.

    Kristy Havill
Canterbury leg-spinner on BBC Test Match Special

    That's a shocker.

  6. Not outpublished at 23:25 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

Hitting middle - of a second set. Terrible review.

    It looks leg side...

  8. NZ 83-1published at 23:24 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2022

England review after the ball hits Kerr on the pad and is given not out...

  9. NZ 83-1published at 19.2 overs

More spin now, of the left-arm variety as Sophie Ecclestone replaces Kate Cross.

But it is not a great start as second ball up she drops short and Kerr smashes her through the offside for two.

Ian: Satterthwaite is lovely place in the Lake District, and our cottage is called Silverthwaite, thwaite is the old English meaning for a piece of wild land cleared or reclaimed for cultivation.

    Lovely stuff!

  11. NZ 79-1published at 18.4 overs

That's really nice from Amy Satterthwaite as she delicately late cuts Dean towards third for a well-run three.

  12. NZ 74-1published at 18.1 overs

Spin for the first time today as Charlie Dean comes on in place of Nat Sciver.

There's a rare error from Kate Cross as she sends a wide down the leg side.

But the body language from England is good, there are smiles and laughs as fielders converge on shots that cannot get through. Don't forget that those opening overs looked grim for the holders.

  14. NZ 73-1published at 17 overs

A superb over from Nat Sciver, just the one from it as England continue to put the brakes on the White Ferns' innings. Sciver and Cross have totally changed the complexion of the game.

Martin: Devine's injury is a great shame - you want to get players out with skill and guile.

First show of intent from Kerr. She could have very easily blocked the last ball of that over.

  17. NZ 72-1published at 16 overs

Kerr breaks the shackles at last, coming down the track to Cross and thwacking it over mid-on for the first boundary for quite a while

Kate Cross coaxes Amy Kerr into a swish outside the off stump that keeper Amy Jones has half a mind to appeal for.

Amy Satterthwaite is a seasoned campaigner. But her job has got much harder now with the absence of Sophie Devine.

She's also the vice-captain as well so may have to step up.
