They were holding Mason Crane back, but they've gone with the gamble to bowl him now and it's paid off!

    Lammonby c Wheal b Crane 27 (Originals 87-4)

Ah - a turn in the tale?

Mason Crane dupes Tom Lammonby into top-edging a sweep and Brad Wheal scurries in to take a fine low, diving catch.

Spirit desperately needed to break that partnership.

Here comes Carlos Brathwaite - a big hitter, but not the best against leg-spin...

  3. Originals 87-3published at 40 balls left

    Target 143

The gamble does not pay off.

Tom Lammonby and Colin Ackermann keep tapping the singles, before Lammonby plays a deft paddle round the corner for four. Very canny batting.

Mohammad Nabi finishes with 2-19 off his 20 balls. A fine effort, but the Originals have seen off Spirit's best bowler with 40 balls still to go.

London Spirit have got to gamble - they're going to bowl out Mohammad Nabi here, desperate for a wicket.

These two have just absorbed the pressure of those three early wickets, taken their time and now they're accelerating.

  6. Originals 80-3published at 45 balls left

    Need 63 runs to win

Mohammad Nabi is bowling well, easily the pick of the Spirit spinners so far.

But the Originals are still able to tap the singles off him to keep things ticking along.

Spirit are not setting the right fields for him.

    A very timely timeout.

London Spirit just don't know how to win. They've had a tough tournament and it shows.

  12. Originals 76-3published at 50 balls

    Target 143

    Spirit in serious trouble.

Van der Merwe sends down a poor ball on leg stump and Ackermann does the damage in the same style - a big sweep for four.

If the Spirit's spinners are getting the treatment, they have no chance of winning this without a wicket or two coming very, very soon.

No surprise as Eoin Morgan limps out for a tactical timeout.

  13. Originals 72-3published at 51 balls

Van der Merwe flights it up and Ackermann forcefully sweep it to the fence. Spirit in trouble.

  14. Originals 68-3published at 52 balls

    Need 75 runs to win

Colin Ackermann skips down the pitch and bashes Roelof van der Merwe back over his head for a towering six.

  16. Originals 61-3published at 55 balls left

    Target 143

Originals on the charge - 11 runs from those five balls.

Mason Crane flights it up as Tom Lammonby advances down the pitch and bangs it down the ground.

Mohammad Nabi is in the game on the rope, but can't snaffle what would've been a blinding catch.

In fairness he'd have need to jump back as he took it to avoid standing on the rope and probably wouldn't have stood a chance of jumping back over to take it in time.

Eoin Morgan is off the field with a sore knee. I know he wants to give opportunities to young players, but they'll miss his guidance and his experience out there.

To make matters worse for London Spirit, captain Eoin Morgan is off the pitch with a knee injury. And their second-most experienced Ravi Bopara is also off due to illness.

They're just getting themselves back into this game.
