You've got to score quick runs but you've also got to play smart cricket. The Originals are making a good attempt at losing this game in the first 25 balls.

    Salt b Wheal 14 (Originals 21-3)

Dearie me. Wheal is off celebrating while the wheels are coming off for the Originals.

An immaculate first ball from right-arm seamer Brad Wheal, hitting the top off off-stump.

Phil Salt misses with an ugly hack and the bails go flying. No better sight for a pace bowler than that.

Salt obviously wants to get ahead of the rate but that really wasn't the ball to try and flay.

First bit of pace for Spirit as Brad Wheal enters the fray...

  4. Originals 21-2published at 85 balls left

Colin Ackermann takes a single off his first ball.

London Spirit have made a brilliant start. Making a total mockery of me saying they looked unbalanced to play on a turning pitch.

The fielding is doing the talking for London Spirit at the moment!

The Originals are trying to get ahead of the game early because they know it's going to get harder to bat on this pitch. But the problem with that approach is you can lose a few early wickets.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 88 balls left

    Munro c Bopara b Nabi 6 (Originals 20-2)

Ravi Bopara takes a blinder. Colin Munro has a shocker.

Again, it's not the best ball from Mohammad Nabi and Munro has time to batter it anywhere he wants on the off-side.

He absolutely cracks it, but picks out Bopara, who does well to hang on because that ball was travelling.

Literally a yard either side and there was no chance Bopara could've dived in time.

  9. Originals 20-1published at 89 balls left

Mohammad Nabi continues and Phil Salt taps a single.

  10. Originals 19-1published at 90 balls left

    Target 143

New Zealand's Colin Munro has a strike rate of 156.44 in T20 internationals.

Put simply, he never hangs about.

A two to start, a couple of sighters and then a massive heave down the ground that lands a tad short of the foam boundary for four.

That was like an Aussie Rules football catch.

  14. wicket

    Clarke c Crane b Nabi 0 (Original 13-1)

    A first-ball duck! Spirit's premier spinners combine!

Joe Clarke wants to emulate Phil Salt's fast start and looks to clatter a short ball from Mohammad Nabi over the ropes down the ground.

He doesn't connect cleanly enough though and Mason Crane snaffles a fine catch above his head, timing his leap to perfection.

  15. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 10 August 2021

He does indeed, Tuffers. As does Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi, who is on to bowl his off-spin second up.

    Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two

Mason Crane, London Spirit's leg-spinner, has a big role to play tonight.

    Need 130 runs to win

A woeful start from Van der Merwe.

Three boundaries in five balls - the third a wide gimme that Salt marmalises through the covers again.

A single to finish and that's 13 from five.

    This is high-class batting.

  19. Originals 8-0published at 98 balls left

    Target 143

So it's slow-left armer Roelof van der Merwe first up. He needs to make a good start...

And does exactly the opposite, conceding back-to-back fours as Phil Salt mashes the first through the covers and cuts the second forcefully past point to the fence.
