It's that man Garton again. When you have the ball in hand in the powerplay, you're looking for early wickets. It's a lot more difficult in the Hundred to establish partnerships.

    Hales c De Kock b Garton 3 (Rockets 18-2)

And another! Big, big wicket for the Southern Brave and it's a similar dismissal to that of Malan - Garton's extra pace just finding the edge. Hales was swinging hard at everything but the tactic didn't quite come off.

  3. Rockets 18-1published at Ball 13

That was hit very hard - Hales whacking Garton through the off side - but Whiteley gets a hand on it and saves four. May have been a dropped catch, but it would be harsh on the fielder to say that.

Garton has been impressive so far because he had a clear plan to both batters. He went short and wide to Malan, and it has worked. Now Trent Rockets need to find somebody else to build their innings around.

    Malan c De Kock b Garton 14 (Rockets 15-1)

Garton has the first! It has been a good start for George Garton, who's bowled quickly, and this time finds the edge of Malan's bat with a bit of extra bounce.

Malan swipes his bat in frustration, and Rockets' main man is gone.

  8. Rockets 15-0published at Ball 10

Alex Hales ends the first set of 10 with a firm drive but it's well fielded by a tumbling Ross Whiteley to save any runs.

That is the most elegant drive which would fit into any cricket game any place in the world.

  10. Rockets 14-0published at Ball 7

Shot! Another four to Malan, this time classically driven through the off side.

And another, to the opposite side of the ground. Tough start for Craig Overton in his first game back in the side.

I think Trent Rockets are giving Dawid Malan the opportunity to get ahead of the scoring rate in the powerplay. If he comes in after a good opening partnership, he can soak up a lot of balls.

And Dawid Malan gets Rockets' first boundary with a simple clip off his legs for four. A bit of a gift from Garton, that.

The batters scramble a single from the first ball to get things up and running.

George Garton is opening the bowling for Brave.

Southern Brave's bowling attack has been exceptional during The Hundred so far, and that has largely been down to Tymal Mills.

He hasn't taken that many wickets, but hasn't gone for many runs and has been a real asset for James Vince to use at the end of an innings.

The last time these teams met, it was the first game of The Hundred for each of them.

Marchant De Lange ripped through Southern Brave's batters by taking five wickets and ensuring a pretty straightforward win for the Rockets.

Since then, though, Brave are on a five-match winning streak. This is set up to be a cracker of a game.
