That's our lot for today. For a full recap on England's thumping victory over West Indies, read Matt Henry's report.

In case you missed it, Australia beat South Africa in a low-scoring match earlier today. Here's Callum Matthews' report from that game.

We'll be back tomorrow morning with live radio commentary, text coverage and in-play clips from 10:45 BST as Bangladesh take on Sri Lanka in Sharjah.

And at 15:00 BST it's one of the biggest rivalries in world cricket as Pakistan and India go head to head in Dubai.

For now, though, we'll leave you with England's winning moment as Eoin Morgan's men kick off their World Cup campaign with a bang. Goodbye.

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will come into this thinking they've got an advantage because they've been playing games and winning. They know their team while the other sides will still be working out their combinations.

All the expectation is off them, and on England to beat them. Bangladesh will really be fancying their chances against England on Wednesday.

Roston Chase needs to come into this team. It could be Nicholas Pooran because he had a poor IPL but he's the vice captain and the keeper.

Chris Gayle at three can work, and I still believe that, but with a misfiring Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer that is why Roston Chase has to come in next game and probably for Gayle.

Phil Simmons and the West Indies coaches will say very little tonight. The lack of intent from the start will be the most frustrating start. They weren't getting out to big strokes, it was block, block, oh I best play a big shot and try get a boundary.

Everybody who got out today, on both teams, will say 'crikey, that isn't the way I want to get out', but it was fantastic from England today. They didn't let West Indies get in the game at all.

Player of the match Moeen Ali who took the catch to dismiss Evin Lewis and also finished career-best figures of 2-17 from four overs:

"A catch like that gives you a bit of confidence, it settled my nerves a bit,"

"Playing for CSK in the IPL leading up to the tournament was very important for me, it feels like I'm always involved with bat and ball and on the field too, and it was the perfect preparation coming into the World Cup."

West Indies' bowlers did all the could but, with a measly 55 to defend, the damage had already been done.

West Indies will have to change something. They can't get bowled out for 55 and expect to win the World Cup.

I would just park that game and get back to the hotel. Maybe meet for a few drinks later and just have some informal chats and have more one-on-one chats, rather than a public bashing.

The intent still wasn't there. The shots looked horrendous, but it was block, block, shot. When the West Indies batter look for ones they look even worse though. It is about hitting the ball along the ground.

England's variety in their attack really showed up today. They were high quality.

Moeen bowling four overs at the start wouldn't have been the plan but West Indies never looked to take him on and he was allowed to just settle.

There aren't many words to say that haven't been said before. You can park that performance. The beauty of this group is that even the teams that are fancied to quality quite easily will be deleted.

Sri Lanka or Bangladesh will take wins off Australia, South Africa, England and West Indies.

Sometimes it is a good thing to get a big defeat out of the way.

England spinner Adil Rashid on TMS: "We couldn't have expected anything better than that. We set the tone up top with Mo and Chris Woakes and then we came in and done more. It was a top draw performance from the bowlers.

"There were some nerves flying around, but we've prepared well and we were confident in our abilities and today was the perfect start.

"It evolved for Moeen to bowl four overs straight through, he bowled a really good first over and then second over and it carried through."

It is the best possible start for England and they have their revenge for the 2016 T20 World Cup final.

It has been a terrible day at the office for West Indies. It is a harrowing defeat.

Only one West Indies batter managed double figures. England's bowlers were on fire. West Indies' batters were terrible.

It is the first time that England have won a T20 international with more than 10 overs to spare, and it is the first time West Indies have lost with more than 10 overs left.
