When these guys play proper cricket shots they still hit the ball further than anyone else. It is a beautiful start for Evin Lewis.

  2. 6 runs

    WI 7-0published at 1 over

Eoin Morgan has a slip in early with Moeen bowling to left-hander Evin Lewis. Moeen floats one, darts one and then is whacked down the ground for the first six.

    We're off.

It might not be too long before we see Lendl Simmons advance down the pitch to the spinner. He likes to use his feet.

  4. WI 0-0published at 0.1 overs

There's flight from Moeen first up and he fields off his own bowling. Jos Buttler applauds from behind the stumps.

The players from both sides take the knee before the first ball.

    Well played.

  6. WI 0-0published at 14:59 British Summer Time 23 October 2021

It will indeed be Moeen Ali to start. Chris Gayle watches on, down to bat number three today.

England's World Cup adventure begins right here.

    Play.

Opener Lendl Simmons is walking out in a cap which suggests England will be starting with a spinner.

Either that or he's very (very, very) brave.

There may be no Ben Stokes or Jofra Archer but this remains a strong England side.

Eoin Morgan, eyes as steely as ever, speaks in the huddle before the plays break away to their fielding positions.

    Carlos Brathwaite
West Indies all-rounder on BBC Test Match Special

I would definitely love to be there and soaking up the atmosphere and preparing to play for West Indies later.

Dwayne Bravo has got another song ready apparently - he is hoping we become champions again. People always come up to me and want to do a champion dance.

This is his and Chris Gayle's last big hurdle and they'll want to go out with a win.

This, of course, is a repeat of the 2016 World T20 final. England lost that day when Carlos Brathwaite smashed Ben Stokes for four sixes in the final over.

Thankfully for England, Carlos is on commentary today on TMS. You can listen by clicking the audio icon above or on your radio.
