England just need to play smart cricket now. They need to have a little look at this pitch - the odd one has bounced.

You don't want to be losing two to three wickets in this power play. 170 isn't a huge total but it can be if you lose early wickets.

  2. Eng 0-1published at 0.4 overs

Swing and a miss from Dawid Malan as the bowler just tempts him into a loose drive, followed by an absolute beauty that jags past his outside edge.

A stunning start from Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Fantastic start for India! The crowd are up at Edgbaston. Just back of a length, this one swung and bounced. Thick outside edge, comfortably pouched by Sharma.

    Oh.

Jason Roy falls from first ball of England's reply. Bhuvneshwar Kumar gets the ball to bounce nicely, but Roy pokes at it with hard hands and the ball lands cosily in the hands of Rohit Sharma at slip.

That is a very slow, dejected walk off the pitch from Roy.

Here is that man Jos Buttler, now with bat in hand.

He's joined by Jason Roy. Neither had the best of nights in the first T20 at Southampton so can they make up for it today?

171 to win. The chase is on!

How casual was this from Jos Buttler?!

    Ridiculous cricketer.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant.

A decent trio to get out on debut! A fine day's work for Richard Gleeson.

India will be happy. They lost their way after the powerplay but I still think 170 is a par score.

    Thanks, Mike!

This is set up very nicely indeed. Game on!

India started off at a remarkable pace but were stalled by Richard Gleeson's remarkable debut performance. They rarely seemed on top after that but 170 seems a defendable total in these conditions.

England are due in the middle any minute, here's Ffion Wynne for the reply.

    Saqib Mahmood
    England bowler on BBC Two

We'll see the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah pitching the ball full to start, see if it swings, but then if that doesn't work they will quickly go to what England did and bowl back of a length.

India have got themselves a score. We thought there would be some runs in this pitch and they got off to a flyer.

But Gleeson and Jordan have shown India exactly how to bowl on that pitch and they certainly have got the bowlers to do it.

  13. Ind 170-8published at 20 overs

Hit down the ground - they make it back for two as Jason Roy fumbles.

Jadeja finishes with 46 off 29 - could that be a key intervention?

  14. Ind 168-8published at 19.5 overs

Jadeja pushes for two - they're home comfortably.

I'd be a bit miffed if I was Bumrah! He took 35 from one over last week and now Jadeja is turning down the run!

  16. Ind 166-8published at 19.4 overs

Slapped to mid-wicket. Turned down any chance of a run again.

  17. Ind 166-8published at 19.3 overs

And with good reason! He lofts Curran off his legs for a one-bounce four.

  18. Ind 162-8published at 19.2 overs

Wide from Curran, then Jadeja turns down the run - he wants the strike.

  19. Ind 161-8published at 19.1 overs

Here's Sam Curran with the final over, bowling to Jadeja - he swipes it round his legs. Parkinson blocks it off, just two.

Another good full delivery. Kumar got decent contact on it but it's drilled straight to extra cover.

Chris Jordan has bowled beautifully today. He and Gleeson have been potentially England's matchwinners.
