Put Jason Roy out of our misery and his. Drop him.
Jason, Neath.
There we go!
Jonny Bairstow muscles the final ball of Maharaj's over over the boundary.
James Anderson
England bowler on BBC Two
South Africa have used the slower ball brilliantly so far. You don't usually see them this early in a T20 but it has made things difficult for the England batters and brought two wickets.
Spinner Keshav Maharaj returns and Dawid Malan is shaking his head, grumpy at himself for missing out on a half-tracker.
It's quiet at the moment. The packed Bristol crowd is hushed.

James: Roy dismissed is probably a blessing in disguise when you consider he’s spent 14 balls struggling to get the ball off the square.
This was a great grab...
Roy has really struggled for rhythm this summer. His highest score across all of this white-ball games is 43 in the Chester-le-Street ODI.
Then again, he often goes through these struggles before bursting into life. Will he come good?
It's a tidy first over from Andile Phehlukwayo to end the powerplay.
Chris Woakes
England all-rounder on BBC Two
This is a tough situation for Jonny Bairstow. He has to play himself in but also not just block out the rest of the power play.
Malan 10, Bairstow 2
Jonny Bairstow gets off the mark despite a bit of yes, no, yes, no between he and Dawid Malan. The throw hits the stumps and Bairstow steals an extra single too.
What time do England start to worry about Jason Roy? Or are you worrying already?
Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two
That's a good bit of bowling. It was the slower ball. That is a definite plan to Jason Roy. They dangled the carrot and he went for it.
Roy c Klaasen b Ngidi 8 (Eng 41-2)
It's another low score for Jason Roy - just eight from 15 balls in fact. Once again, England's opener never looked comfortable and he goes skewing a slower ball into the air.
He knew straight away. His shoulders slumped immediately.
Andy Zaltzman says on TV that Jos Buttler's innings was the fastest any England opener has ever reached 20. This six was outrageous but he's back on the balcony, sat alongside England coach Matthew Mott now.
Shottt. KG Rabada is picked up off a length by Dawid Malan and sent a long way back into the stands.
Chris Woakes
England all-rounder on BBC Two
You are naturally going to go for boundaries bowling in the powerplay with so many fielders in the circle, but the most important thing is to make those breakthroughs. If you don't take wickets in those first six overs you will be struggling.
Roy 5, Malan 1
Miller was mobbed by his team-mates after that. He got a slap on the head that surely will have hurt. A brilliant grab running back from mid-off.
Dawid Malan gets off the mark first ball.
Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two
Captain to captain there. Jos Buttler cannot believe it, but that is a fabulous catch from David Miller.
Buttler c Miller b Ngidi 22 (Eng 28-1)
Gone! A superb catch from David Miller. It's short and sweet for Jos Buttler as he skies a Lungi Ngidi slower ball a mile into the air. David Miller has to run back, sort his feet out and steady himself but does so brilliantly to take the catch.
The England captain is on his way.
Short and wide. Cracked for four by England's skipper!
Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner on BBC Two
Buttler looks in the mood.
Roy may not be able to locate the middle but Jos Buttler has it locked in. Lungi Ngidi enters the attack and is pumped over his head almost immediately.
