Half-century for England and Surrey batter Ollie Pope.

It's a fourth fifty in six innings for the 24-year-old this season, one of which he's converted into a century.

A bit of a run-machine at county level is Ollie.

It's been another fine day for the batters, especially in Division One.

Remember when batting used to be tough in April and May?

    Yorkshire v Lancashire 187-2

A session completely dominated by Lancashire.

for Will Youngpublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Warks v Northants 257-0

The day keeps getting better and better for Northants.

Will Young steps down to Danny Briggs and hoists him over mid-wicket for six before a single brings a hundred in 175 balls.

A first century of the summer for the New Zealand opener after two failures last week at The Oval.

    Lovely batting.

Keaton Jennings dances down the track to Dom Bess and punches him over mid-on and follows it with another boundary.

Jennings moves into the 80s in a stand that's now worth 160 with Steven Croft.

  10. Stokes up and runningpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Division Two update

Ben Stokes is trying to get Durham moving against Glamorgan

He’s slapped David Lloyd and Timm van der Gugten through the off side with wonderful timing.

The game in the balance still with Durham on 157-4.

No Ollie Robinson, no problem for Sussex.

They have Leicestershire 130-6 at Grace Road.

Jack Haynes and Azhar Ali shared a big stand last week.

And another century partnership at Derby has moved Worcestershire to 165-2.

Haseeb Hameed is on 78 for Notts who are 174-4 at Lord’s against Middlesex.

  11. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Lancashire 150-2

Keaton Jennings whacks George Hill through point to bring up the Lancashire 150.

Lancashire are well on top now having completely dominated this session.

  12. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Kent v Surrey 150-3

Ollie Pope has nudged and nurdled his way to 25 for Surrey.

He has Ben Foakes for company, who's one of those nine batters I mentioned earlier with an average north of 100 this season.

  13. Postpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Lancashire 138-2

The sun's now out again at Headingley and batting is looking rather easy for this Lancashire pair.

Steven Croft biffs spinner Dom Bess over mid-on for his 11th boundary.

Don't forget Lancashire were 12-2 this morning. They're now 138-2.

  14. 100 runs

for Ricardo Vasconcelospublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Warks v Northants 201-0

The Northants captain is first to his hundred, driving Danny Briggs through cover.

Only 140 balls with 16 fours.

First point on the board for the visitors.

First double century stand for them in a very very long time I fancy too, especially for the opening wicket.

WICKETSpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Glos v Som 179-2

A double strike for the Glosters with both openers gone within two overs.

First, Tom Lammonby tries to glance Zak Chappell over the slips cordon but gets it wrong and is held at backward point for 76.

Then Matt Renshaw is done by a beauty that nips back to take the left-hander’s off stump. He's out for 94.

  17. Ben Stokes in at Durhampublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Durham 136-4 v Glam

Glamorgan have Durham in a spot of bother with David Bedingham fourth out.

So in comes the new England Test captain.

Fireworks at New Road last week, with a record 17 sixes in his 161, but not the same platform here.

Elsewhere in Divison Two, Notts have slipped since lunch and are 154-4 at Lord’s.

  18. 50 runs

for Croftpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Lancashire 115-2

And now Steven Croft joins his batting partner in reaching his half-century.

The right-hander swivels and pulls a short ball from Haris Rauf to the rope.

His stand with Keaton Jennings is now worth 103.

  19. 50 runs

for Jenningspublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Yorkshire v Lancashire 111-2

The runs keep on coming for the visitors in this Roses match.

After Steven Croft takes Haris Rauf for 12 off the over, Keaton Jennings drives Tom Loten through the covers to reach fifty.

It's turned out to be an excellent innings after a tricky start.

  20. Postpublished at 14:31 British Summer Time 12 May 2022

    Glos v Som 172-0

Someone with more time on their hands than me will have the full numbers but I fancy that Gloucestershire have spent more time in the field than any team this season.

This is set up for another long slog in the dirt.

Zafar Gohar, the left-arm spinner, has only just recovered from his 65 overs at Old Trafford but he could be asked to fill up another session or two here.

    Matt Renshaw onto 87.
