First he pulls the left-arm seamer with authority and follows it up with a nice square cut.

Couple of overs to go until lunch.

    Middx 133-3 (target 516) v Notts

Rain arrives at Lord’s and they’re off for an early lunch.

Great session for Middlesex with no further damage this morning.

Long way to go. 74 overs to see out.

But the forecast this afternoon is poor.

  4. 'Potts in rampant form'published at 12:42 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Durham v Glamorgan 107-7 (target 191)

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

For the fourth time this season the Durham quick bowler Matty Potts has taken a 5-for. On the other three occasions he finished with six-fors.

So far in this game he has taken nine wickets including 5-31 in this second Glamorgan innings and has put Durham in the box seat for the first time in this match.

No wonder he's expected to be called up by England next week. He has 33 wickets already in the County Championship.

So far today he's seen off Kiran Carlson and David Lloyd for ducks and removed Sam Northeast for 26.

Durham's bowlers have put Glamorgan under a lot of pressure today and at the moment they are completely bogged down.

    Yorkshire 379 & 19-1 (f/o) v Lancashire 566-9 dec

James Anderson has only conceded four runs from his opening five overs. Miserly stuff.

But he'll want wickets. It's his bread and butter.

    Five for Matty Potts!

David Lloyd beaten for pace by a full ball and trapped bang in front of all three.

Durham storming to victory it seems.

  10. WARWICKSHIRE SAVE FOLLOW-ONpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Warks 448-4 v Northants 597-6d

Northamptonshire’s last hope was for a run of wickets this morning.

But Sam Hain, 160, and Matt Lamb, 80, have taken the Bears safely past the follow-on mark.

So unless something truly wacky happens from here, that will peter out into a very tame draw.

  11. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Yorkshire 379 & 12-1 (f/o) v Lancashire 566-9 dec

It's watchful stuff from Yorkshire pair Dawid Malan and George Hill. Pure defence.

If these two can see it through to lunch Yorkshire will surely feel they've gone a long way towards saving this Roses match.

  12. 100 runs

for Sam Robsonpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 15 May 2022

    Middx 132-3, target 516 v Notts

Back to back boundaries off James Pattinson brings Sam Robson a century in 177 balls with 13 fours.

Follows his match-winning 149 at Sussex last week.

Runs irrelevant for Middlesex today though, simply a case of batting time and this is a good start.

Another for Durham! No one can get a grip on this chase for Glamorgan.

Billy Root goes to pull Brydon Carse and gets a glove down the leg side.

A lucky one for Durham but that’s a third wicket of the morning for them and they still have 88 to defend.

Batting looks really tricky out there as James Anderson gets one to nip past the outside edge of Dawid Malan.

Plenty of chatter from the Lancashire slip cordon.

Warwickshire have had no alarms this morning at Edgbaston as they move towards saving the follow-on.

Sam Hain on 154 with the Bears 431-4 trailing Northants by 166.

    Perfect start for Lancashire!

Adam Lyth is struck on the pad by a ball that goes straight on from Tom Bailey and he's sent packing.

Two failures in this match for Lyth.
