Well thank you for joining us this morning! We've had two great games of cricket, starting with Ireland thrashing the West Indies by nine wickets to knock out the former world champions.

You can also read Stephan Shemilt's match report of Zimbabwe's victory that eliminated Scotland.

And tomorrow we're straight into the Super 12 action so there is plenty to look forward to.

We start with a repeat of last year's final as Australia v New Zealand takes place at 8:00 BST before England kick off their campaign against Afghanistan at midday. We will bring you live text commentary, in-play clips and radio commentary of both those games here on the BBC Sport website.

And if that's not enough, keep an eye out for the first episode of Good Pace for Radio, the podcast from Mark Wood and Tymal Mills that will be out later on today.

Zimbabwe skipper Craig Ervine: "I don't think anyone can explain what it means. We had the whole country around us. Well deserved win for the boys hitting a huge performance to get us through.

"I needed Raza to come in a play those innings. I knew if I could steady the ship and with Raza's hitting ability, we could get over the line.

"The support for us has been special. Wherever we go the support is there and we are looking forward to travelling around Australia and have the supporters follow us."

Scotland captain Richie Berrington: "We're hugely disappointed. I think we were about 23-30 runs short with the bat on that surface. That would have given us a good chance to put some more pressure on them.

"But we have played some really good cricket in this tournament. We are disappointed we couldn't quite get that momentum and execute our plans with the bat in the first innings.

"We can still walk away really proud of some of the performances we put in. It's disappointing not to get over the line but there are plenty of positives we can take home with us."

Zimbabwe batter Sikandar Raza: "First of all, credit to Scotland. In my heart when we bat well, we will get it done. It was my job and they did a good job in the middle. It was quite satisfying and humbling.

"My job is to bat through and I will try to get us as much as possible. We had a good partnership and that's what won the game today.

"If you look at the number of supporters and hear the crowd, you couldn't tell there were only a few. They carry all the motion and repped Zimbabwe community all the way. Beautifully spoken and beautifully played."

Craig Ervine desperately would've wanted to be there at the end for his side, but it was a real captain's knock to bat through most of the innings and get them to within 14 runs of their target.

There are some really heart-warming scenes as the Zimbabwe players dance, jump and sing on the outfield in a big group, followed by a walk out in front of their fans draped in their country's flags.

This means a lot to them, but you've got to spare a thought for Scotland. A fighting performance, they came so close.

Credit to Scotland's bowlers. They knew their score was below par and defending it would be tough but they didn't make it easy for Zimbabwe.

Brad Wheal and Josh Davey started things brilliantly, taking two early wickets to put them under real pressure before Sikandar Raza and Craig Ervine took the game away with a great partnership.

There were some brilliant performances in that run chase for Zimbabwe.

Sikandar Raza lit up the stage with his eye-catching 40 from 23 balls, while captain Craig Ervine anchored the innings with his half-century.

Milton Shumba then calmly made a run-a-ball 11 and Ryan Burl a composed nine to see them home when they had just lost those key wickets and a wobble could've easily been on the cards.

It was a good run chase. Zimbabwe top the group and go through as number one in the group to get them through to the super 12. Agonising loss for Scotland.

  13. ZIMBABWE WIN BY FIVE WICKETSpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 21 October 2022

    Heartbreak for Scotland.

Ryan Burl smashes Sharif just over the head of mid-on for four runs to seal a historic victory for Zimbabwe. They are absolutely delighted, the fans in the crowd cheering and singing in celebration of their team reaching the Super 12s.

The smiles, hugs and fist bumps from the Zimbabwe players tell us just how much that means to them.

  14. Zim 129-5published at 18.2 overs

    Need 4 runs to win

The equation is certainly in Zimbabwe's favour but it still feels tense! Four runs to go.

Scotland need a wicket or a whole load of dot balls.

  16. Zim 127-5published at 18 overs

    Need 6 runs to win

Milton Shumba and Ryan Burl play nicely and calmly to take nine from the over in ones and twos. They need less than a run a ball, so they don't need to stress about boundaries.

Zimbabwe are close, but not quite there. Have Scotland got a miracle in them?

  17. Zim 120-5published at 17.1 overs

    Need 13 runs to win

Two new batters at the crease for Zimbabwe.

This could still go either way.

    Who will hold their nerve?

It's the captain that's gone! That is exactly what Scotland needed and exactly the man Scotland wanted.

Alex Hartley called it! Is there a twist?

Captain Craig Ervine goes for a fine 58 with Zimbabwe needing just 14 to win.

A boundary here wins Zimbabwe the game. A wicket here keeps Scotland in the game.
