    Cross c Madhevere b Ngarava 1 (Sco 24-2)

Wow. What a catch! Zimbabwe have their second.

Richard Ngarava bowls a touch too short and Matthew Cross latches on to it - he must be thinking this one's going for four.

But Wessly Madhevere takes a stunner at mid-wicket, diving full-stretch and plucking the ball out of the air. Scotland in a spot of bother now.

  2. Sco 24-1published at 4 overs

Zimbabwe's star man, the tall quick Blessing Muzarabani, bowls the fourth over and starts with a no-ball.

Thankfully for him the free hit only concedes two runs but George Munsey follows it with two firm punches down the ground that both go for four. Scotland needed that.

The way Sikandar and Williams bowled at the start of the week I'm starting to worry for Scotland here. This is a very placid start.

  4. Sco 13-1published at 3 overs

Another very fine over from Tendai Chatara, a maiden with the two runs coming from leg byes.

Bit of pressure on Scotland here, Zimbabwe have started nicely and with discipline.

  5. Sco 11-1published at 2 overs

Matthew Cross is the new batter.

George Munsey helps himself to four runs thanks to a horrible misfield on the mid-wicket boundary, but it's a good over from Richard Ngarava, ending it with a well-directed bouncer that leaves Munsey sitting on the ground.

Fabulous catch from Sikandar Raza. He's been the player of Zimbabwe's tournament so far and that was not easy.

    Jones c Raza b Chatara 4 (Sco 5-1)

    The perfect start for Zimbabwe!

Michael Jones played a lovely straight drive for four from the third ball to kickstart Scotland's innings, but he tries to go for another boundary which leads to his demise.

Tendai Chatara has found some nice swing movement, and Jones takes a step down the pitch to try and hit him down the ground but all he can manage is a thick edge up into the air and Sikandar Raza takes a fine tumbling catch in the covers.

The anthems are done so it's time to get going. There is good support for both sides in the crowd, and it promises to be a competitive game. Both teams have one win and one loss each so far, so it's pretty evenly matched.

    Let's go.

  10. Scotland win the toss and choose to batpublished at 08:53 British Summer Time 21 October 2022

Scotland captain Richie Berrington opts to bat first. They've just watched Ireland chase down a below-par target of 146 with ridiculous ease so it is clearly a good batting pitch that they want to make first use of.
