It was a solid outing from the Netherlands, who were never expected to win, but their bowlers and fielding in particular was outstanding.

They just came up against a brilliant team - and this man at the peak of his powers.

He'll sit in bed tonight and think 'wow, what a day I've had'. They have played in front of thousands of people and a lot of players haven't done that before.

Netherlands' Max O'Dowd speaking to BBC Sport: "It was amazing. The atmosphere was unbelievable and it was something I haven't experienced before. They are an amazing outfit so it is always going to be tough.

"We know we're capable of things beyond what people think of us. We've proved it before but doing it on the big stage is difficult. Hopefully going forward that is what happens.

"It wasn't quite what dreams are made of, I wanted to win, but playing against India at the SCG was amazing.

"It says a lot about us. We've done all of the hard work behind the scenes - things have been difficult with a new coach, we've reset a lot of our values but I think it's putting us in good stead. We want a win from the last three games and to cause an upset."

Suryakumar Yadav is named player of the match for his unbeaten 51 from 25 balls, that helped set up India's first-innings total of 179.

He played beautifully - a joy to watch.

So where does that leave things in the table?

India go top, with two wins from two, but Netherlands are at the other end without a win.

South Africa's big win over Bangladesh earlier did wonders for their net run-rate, leaving them in second as things stand.

You have to give Netherlands credit, it is a big ground with a big atmosphere.

Paul van Meekeren finishes the innings with a flourish, hitting three boundaries from the last three balls - get him up the order!

Nice little cameo here from Shariz, despite the inevitable result for Netherlands, as he moves on to 15.

Netherlands haven't had many answers to India's bowlers, but Tim Pringle entertained us briefly with his cameo of 20.

Arshdeep Singh is looking like a great prospect for India, isn't he? He bowls a fierce yorker on Shariz Ahmad's leg stump that has him sprawling in a heap as he tries to get some bat on it.
