  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10.4 overs

    Souyma c Shan b Shadab 20 (Ban 73-2)

    Breakthrough!

During the mid-innings drinks break we saw Pakistan head coach Saqlain Mushtaq in animated conversation with Shadab Khan.

    It's brought a wicket too.

Souyma Sarkar looks to reverse sweep, but picks out Shan Masood at point. It's a good catch because it looked like it was going to clear him, but he's just about tall enough to take it.

  2. Ban 70-1published at 10 overs

Bangladesh continue to build a platform, taking Haris Rauf for six runs.

The platform is there, but what can they do with it?

They'll want to take at least 80 from the back 10 you'd think.

  3. Ban 64-1published at 9 overs

We're back up and running. Najmul Hossain Shanto is fine to continue too.

Eight from the over for Bangladesh. There was a lovely slog sweep for four by Soumya Sarkar too.

  4. Ban 64-1published at 8.5 overs

We're going to have a slight delay because Najmul Hossain Shanto needs some medical attention.

We're not too sure why at the moment, but he was down on his haunches and struggling.

  5. Ban 56-1published at 8 overs

    Shanto 36, Soumya 9

It feels like Bangladesh are building a really nice platform to launch from.

They take another seven from the over as Najmul Hossain Shanto rocks back and cuts away to the point boundary.

Bangladesh need to be careful though. A platform is useful, but Pakistan have some seriously good death bowlers so they don't want to leave too much to do.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is back on the field.

    That's good news for Pakistan.

  7. Ban 49-1published at 7 overs

It feels like every single game in this World Cup is chaotic at some stage.

This game is starting to become just that.

Both batters end up at the same end almost after some confusion with the calling. The ball is thrown to Shadab Khan at the non-striker's end and he whips the bails off.

But the run out should be at the other end and he doesn't realise so the ball never ends up there.

    Mohammad Rizwan is ticking.

  8. Ban 40-1published at 6 overs

Naseem Shah is really growing into this tournament. He starts the final over of the powerplay with four dot balls. Superb.

The left-handers for Bangladesh just aren't able to read the change of pace and then the full pace ball is just too quick for them.

It leads to Najmul Hossain Shanto miscuing a pull to Shaheen Shah Afridi at short fine leg - he actually hits it twice - but the Pakistan fielder isn't able to get his hands under the ball.

He's actually going to off for some treatment too. Dislocated finger? Split finger? Who knows but he's hanging it down behind his back so he's obviously in some pain.

  9. Ban 38-1published at 5 overs

Mohammad Rizwan, what are you doing?

He fumbles a delivery from Haris Rauf, and despite the batter not even contemplating a bye, he throws the ball at the stumps, and it cannons off them.

It allows Bangladesh to get through for a single.

    No need.

  10. 6 runs

    Ban 34-1published at 4 overs

    Oh, shot!

That's a lovely way to get off the mark.

Soumya Sarkar latches onto a short ball from Mohammad Wasim and cracks a pull over the mid-wicket fence.

    What a shot.

  11. dropped catch

Shanto dropped on 11published at 3.1 overs

Oh! This is a poor drop.

Najmul Hossain Shanto is a little loose on the drive and just chips up to Shadab Khan at extra cover.

The all-rounder dives forward, gets both hands to it, but shells it.

He's usually an excellent fielder too.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.5 overs

    Das c Shan b Shaheen 10 (Ban 21-1)

    Gone! BIG breakthrough.

We'd already seen an example of Litton Das' power earlier in the over as he pulled Shaheen Shah Afridi over mid-wicket for the first six so this is a crucial wicket for Pakistan.

It's a little bit hesitant from Das, as he looks to steer down to third, but just places it straight into the hands of Shan Masood at point.

  13. Ban 13-0published at 2 overs

It is seriously noisy in Adelaide.

It is both sets of fans too. There is flag waving, drums being smashed, singing. They are loving it.

Najmul Hossain Shanto brings up another boundary, as he cuts into the ground and it bounces over backward point and races away to the fence.

Naseem Shah responds well, beating the inside edge. Lovely stuff.

  14. Ban 6-0published at 1 overs

There is plenty of nervous energy out there at the moment.

Shaheen Shah Afridi and Pakistan move in and have a chat about a thin outside edge through to the keeper, but nothing doing.

There's then some hesitation in the Bangladesh running, as Litton Das comes down the track and works to mid-off.

Najmul Hossain Shanto brings up the first boundary with a very streaky outside edge, that flies to the point fence.

    Right, cricket.

Shaheen Afridi has ball in hand. Najmul Hossain Shanto will face up.

    Let's go.

  16. Postpublished at 04:02 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

We saw plenty of power from Pakistan in their win over South Africa on Thursday.

They might need some more of that today.

Based on the earlier game a score of 140-plus will give Bangladesh a chance.

  17. Postpublished at 04:00 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

    Oooh.

We've just heard that the last 10 sides to win the toss at Adelaide have LOST the game.

Bangladesh won the toss, don't forget.

    Advantage Pakistan?

  18. Postpublished at 03:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

Litton Das is likely to be absolutely crucial for Bangladesh.

He blitzed India at the start of their innings the other day and Bangladesh will be relying on him to put runs on the board in this first innings.

  20. Bangladesh win the toss and batpublished at 03:51 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2022

Shakib Al Hasan calls tails, and that's what it lands on.

He fancies giving Pakistan a chase later on.

Runs on the board and all that.
