Zak Crawley gets down on one knee and flicks the spinner Danny Briggs for two consecutive fours.

Plenty for Invincibles captain Sam Billings to think about.

  6. Post update

The Oval does look pretty spectacular in the London sunshine.

Zak Crawley and Adam Rossington, in the bright blue of London Spirit, make their way out to the middle.

    Here we go!

  7. JRoy v Pollard

Throughout the tournament we'll be picking out a key battle or match-up between a two opposing players.

Tonight it's the battle of the big hitters. England international Jason Roy is an aggressive opening batter while the numbers say it all for West Indies legend Kieron Pollard - just look at all those sixes!

Who will be the match-winner tonight?

    The Oval

It's another sell out for tonight's London derby. The Oval has been decked out in Invincibles branding and it could be a lovely one.

The Spirit were pretty rubbish last year, winning one game and finishing bottom, but their batting line-up looks pretty tasty tonight.

  10. Post update

    Morgan

London Spirit captain Eoin Morgan: "We would have looked to do the same. The numbers are heavily weighted here to chasing and it does help but it isn't the be all and end all. We've done some good recruiting and we can't wait to get going.

"There are star-studded line-ups on both sides and great players left on the bench so hopefully it bodes well for the tournament."

  11. Post update

Oval Invincibles captain Sam Billings: "I wanted to look at conditions first on and try and restrict them to a score.

"Having strength in depth is a great problem to have and it is key to be successful in any tournament.

"We've got four debutants today and it is a strong side. We've only got three overseas players at the moment so they picked themselves."

  12. The Teams

London Spirit: Zak Crawley, Adam Rossington, Glenn Maxwell, Dan Lawrence, Eoin Morgan (C), Kieron Pollard, Liam Dawson, Jordan Thompson, Nathan Ellis, Mason Crane, Chris Wood.

Oval Invincibles: Jason Roy, Will Jacks, Sam Billings (C), Sam Curran, Jordan Cox, Hilton Cartwright, Tom Curran, Reece Topley, Mohammad Hasnain, Sunil Narine, Danny Briggs.

  13. Post update

It's just the men's teams in action tonight as the women's competition starts a little later on 11 August due to the Commonwealth Games.

And speaking of, they're in action now against New Zealand to decide who finishes top of the group (and avoids Australia in the semis!)

England are bowling first and have got off to a great start, restricting New Zealand to 12-3. You can watch that live on BBC iPlayer and on the BBC Sport website and app.

  14. Oval Invincibles win the toss and bowl first

    Toss

Invincibles captain Sam Billings calls correctly, and puts Spirit in to bat, who are led by former England captain Eoin Morgan.

We'll bring you the teams shortly.

  15. Post update

So, The Hundred started with a bang last night... for Southern Brave, anyway.

The defending champions absolutely hammered Welsh Fire.

Time for day two and we're back with a London derby as Oval Invincibles take on London Spirit.
