  1. Technology delays men's matchpublished at 17:30 British Summer Time 3 September 2022

Here's an explanation from the England and Wales Cricket Board re the delayed start to the men's match which follows this.

Due to ongoing technical issues around the big screens and DRS replays in-ground, we have taken the decision to delay the start of the men’s final to 18:45 (toss at 18:20) to give us the best possible chance of starting the match with all technology fully functioning.

  2. Invincibles 92-5published at 15 balls to go

    Kapp 29, Windsor 8 - 10 needed

A bit of fire from Emily Windsor!

She advances down the wicket and hammers Amanda-Jade Wellington down the ground for four.

Wellington follows up with a dot to finish with figures of 2-25.

Amanda-Jade Wellington's bowling: 10% full, 81% good length and 10% short. 20 balls, 10 dots, went for 25 runs, took 2 wickets with an economy of 1.25 runs per ball.
  3. Invincibles 87-5published at 20 balls to go

    Kapp 28, Windsor 4 - 15 needed

We're just running down to the total now unfortunately.

Come on folks - let's finish with a bit of oomph! Oooh - a bit of that from Lauren Bell - she thunders a ball into the stomach of Emily Windsor. That'll be sore.

Marizanne Kapp is really trying to talk Emily Windsor through this. A chat between deliveries, a thumbs up here and there. She's the experienced pro and is trying to fill that role.

  8. Invincibles 84-5published at 25 balls to go

    Kapp 27, Windsor 2 - 18 needed

Tahlia McGrath has put in a great shift for her team - just nine off her 15 balls. It's a shame she hasn't been rewarded with a wicket.

Emily Windsor faces the majority of the set, finding the boundary fielder with an uppish cut. She'll be wanting to get Kapp on strike more to finish the job.

  10. Invincibles 80-5published at 30 balls to go

    Kapp 24, Windsor 1 - 22 needed

Windsor and Knapp exchange singles to see out the rest of Wellington's set.

It may be a Hundred final, but Windsor can afford to get her eye in a bit given the Invincibles' ascendancy.

Jack Rule: I know a lot of people are saying Lords shouldn’t be having finals if they are low scoring games as they aren’t producing the high scoring pitches. If both games are close ones though and not one sided I’d say they are good pitches.

Wellington has taken what could yet prove to be a crux wicket for Brave.

    Chathli 2 b Wellington (Invincibles 78-5)

Chathli has spent much of her time at the crease watching Marizanne Kapp bat - she's found herself facing and Amanda-Jade Wellington has ensured she's not staying there for long. Chathli chops on a wide-ish delivery.

In comes Emily Windsor to try and see her team home.

The Southern Brave cannot afford to leak any more boundaries now.

The worm shows Oval Invincibles Women are eight runs ahead of Southern Brave Women. Oval Invincibles Women are 77 for 4 after 65 balls. At the same stage Southern Brave Women were 69 for 2.

How did that get through everything? It's runs for the Invincibles and that's all they will care about.

  16. Invincibles 77-4published at 35 balls to go

    Kapp 22, Chatli 2 - 25 needed

Captain Anya Shrubsole brings herself into the attack to try and take that decisive wicket.

She's not finding much luck - Marizanne Kapp clips her down to fine leg for four, a shorter ball eludes Kapp and keeper Carla Rudd for four more byes before Kapp takes her for another four.

The Invincibles are in sight of the title now.

The attendance for last year's women's final was 17,116. I haven't counted everyone but I think this year has beaten that by a distance.

  18. Invincibles 64-4published at 40 balls to go

    Kapp 14, Chatli 2 - 38 needed

Georgia Adams takes the turn to hold up an end, restricted this new-ish pair to two runs.

It feels rather relaxed - the Brave need something explosive.

  19. Invincibles 62-4published at 45 balls to go

    Kapp 12, Chatli 1

Tahlia McGrath has been doing vital work to keep her team in the contest. Just the three singles off it.

But the Invincibles only need 40 from 45 balls - it's wickets that's needed for the Brave if they're going to actually win, tight bowling isn't going to be enough.
