Here comes the teams. Kate Cross sprints out from The Hundred arch, leading the Originals out onto the field.

The home side will be hoping for a good start to the tournament. They finished well last year but a poor start meant that it was too little, too late.

So no Nat Sciver for the Rockets, she misses the game for personal reasons and is expected to be back on Monday for the game against Birmingham Phoenix.

The all-rounder is pretty much irreplaceable but it still looks like a pretty formidable line-up for the visitors.

Trent Rockets captain Elyse Villani, speaking to Sky Sports: "We probably would have had a bowl first. But hey, we have to have a bat and a bowl.

"It's a great opportunity for our batters to set a great total. We will focus on our batting through the middle phases and have simple plans."

"We've obviously got loads of plans, I won't give too many away. Hopefully we're taking lots of wickets and scoring lots of runs and winning more than we lose.

"I've heard lots about the tournament and can't wait to get on with it."

Manchester Originals captain Kate Cross, speaking to Sky Sports: "We're going to bowl first. There's been a bit of cover overnight and hopefully they'll be a bit of moisture in the surface - I think that's the only time they'll be any moisture in it today.

"We had a really bad start last year and managed to turn it around about halfway. We just spoke about having that really positive intent. Obviously it's the shortest form of the game that we play so we want to be positive.

"If we make mistakes, we're all human but we just get on with it and see what we can produce.

"It's great to see the momentum the women's game has picked up, especially in The Hundred last year. I feel like that was a turning point and we're just excited to get going."
