It's going to be a good line-up for the Welsh Fire. It's been a long time since they won so this would mean everything to them. They finished bottom of the pile last time.

Turning into the battle of the West Indies batters here - and Hayley Matthews is threatening to outdo Deandra Dottin's earlier 67no.

Tammy Beaumont has played the supporting role but gets back in the boundary column with a sweep away for four.

That flurry of boundaries from Hayley Matthews has swung the pendulum in Welsh Fire's direction.

And another one from Matthews, who goes from 49 to 61 in three balls!

    Fire 88-0 - target 157

Hayley Matthews brings up a superb half-century by crashing Kate Cross straight back down the ground.

It falls just before the ropes for four, rather than six. Oh and then she repeats the dose of medicine next ball, back-to-back fours again.

What do you think of the size of the boundaries for women?

We've already seen two balls go into the stands so is there the argument for pushing them out?

We know they can clear the ropes however there weren't many twos ran and if the boundaries were wider would it let in for more twos?

The girls are strong enough to hit fours and clear the ropes. Deandra Dottin hit it into the stands and Sophie Ecclestone made a significant clear.

Push them out and make it more interesting.

Hayley Matthews is starting to let rip now.

Comes down the wicket to smash Hannah Jones to long off and then slices one to deep backward point the next ball for back-to-back boundaries.

And the finale of that show remains very much yet to be written.

A couple of singles to end Grace Potts' set but the Originals will be happy with proceedings, apart from the wicket column.

It's absolutely brilliant around Old Trafford. As someone who works in the education sector if you look around you can see all the young faces and the different shirts. It's not just a sea of Manchester Originals or Welsh Fires.

The kids love the vibrancy of the colour, the enthusiasm and there's so much going on for them to enjoy and seeing them enjoy the cricket, especially the women's cricket, because these ladies have put on a show for us today.

    Welsh Fire 69-0 - target 157

Chance for Originals but a running Sophie Ecclestone is unable to take a tricky one-handed catch after Hayley Matthews misjudges one.

  13. Fire 66-0published at 55 balls left

    Target 157

Deandra Dottin takes a bit of pace off and that tactic has the desired effect.

A dot ball, a single and a two from the final three balls of the set.

Originals the favourites still? It's tight. Fire need to up the rate though.

  14. Fire 63-0published at 58 balls left

    Target 157

Deandra Dottin begins her second set with a wide.

She straightens up but it's not good, still - sits up, begging to be put away and Hayley Matthews obliges with an exquisite pull to long leg for four.

Got a feeling this one is going to be close - 94 needed off 58.

The runs are coming for the Welsh Fire - 100 more needed now. You get the feeling that Matthews and Beaumont are getting in their groove now.

  17. Fire 57-0published at 61 balls left

    Target 157

And Matthews sweeps the next ball from Ecclestone for another four to deep fine leg.

    A hundred runs needed.

  18. Fire 53-0published at 62 balls left

    Target 157

The Fire openers are trying to find the big shots but it's fours rather than sixes at the minute.

They'll do, though. Hayley Matthews cuts Sophie Ecclestone away to deep point.

Now we're going to have spin again from Sophie Ecclestone. She's the No.1 T20 bowler in the world.

  20. Fire 47-0published at 65 balls left

    Matthews 22, Beaumont 20 - target 157

Hayley Matthews and Tammy Beaumont know they need to up the rate slightly.

So they race for two - Matthews would have been out if Deandra Dottin's throw hit directly. But it didn't.

The worm shows Welsh Fire Women are 12 runs ahead of Manchester Originals Women. Welsh Fire Women are 47 for 0 after 35 balls. At the same stage Manchester Originals Women were 35 for 1.
