  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 9 balls

    Mooney c Capsey b Villiers 3 (Spirit 4-2)

    What a start!

Mady Villiers has a second wicket in the power play as Beth Mooney drives hard straight to Alice Capsey at cover.

That's the key wicket of Mooney gone. The Invincibles are dominating.

A lot of people have taken to calling five balls a set in the The Hundred. I'm resisting, I prefer fives - first five, second five etc - to a set.

  3. Spirit 2-1published at 5 balls

Strong first five from Mady Villiers. She'll continue and bowl the next set too.

An easy catch. Danielle Gibson falls second ball, that is a very soft dismissal.

That is a very, very silly shot to play, really. Not a great start for London Spirit.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 3 balls

    Gibson c Bates b Villiers 0 (Spirit 1-1)

    Instant impact for the Invincibles.

Mady Villiers adds another dot before Danielle Gibson gets impatient, tries to go big, but ends up flicking the ball to Suzie Bates on the edge of the inner ring.

    Good start.

Beth Mooney has been outstanding so far in The Hundred. She's got the highest individual score in the women's tournament.

  9. Spirit 0-0published at 1 ball

We start with spin as Mady Villiers is flicked for a single to the leg side by Beth Mooney.

It's very hard to replace some like Heather Knight, one of the best batters in world cricket. London Spirit's results show that. They need someone else to step up.

London Spirit captain Charlie Dean: "We'd have had a bowl as well as we know they like a chase. But happy to have a bat today.

"I think we've got to win our two games to reach the knockouts. We're looking to get a big win as well to help our net run rate. But we're here to get the win first.

"It's always a big one on a Saturday at Lord's. Hopefully the crowd will be behind us as well."

  13. Today's match-up: Mooney v Capseypublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

We've picked out Australia's wicket-keeper batter Beth Mooney and England's Alice Capsey as our key match-up today.

Last time out 28-year-old Mooney struck 61 off 39 as she put in a match-hero performance to help the London Spirit beat the Welsh Fire.

That total comes after her mammoth 97 not out off 55 balls against the Southern Brave, the highest ever score in the women's competition. Will she go big again today?

Hoping to stop her will be teenager Capsey, a full 10 years younger than Mooney.

Allrounder Capsey took 3-15 with the ball last time out and struck 20 with the bat as the Invincibles thrashed Birmingham Phoenix.

She's taken five wickets from her three matches so far across the competition.

Oval Invincibles captain Dane van Niekerk: "We'll have a bowl because we want to chase.

"We're more comfortable doing that and it looks like a better track than the other day as well. We're not quite sure what a good total is so send them in and try to chase it down.

"London Spirit played really well in the last game so we're not going to take this one lightly. A win would be good just so we can relax a little bit for the Manchester game."

  15. Will Invincibles wrap up qualification?published at 15:19 British Summer Time 27 August 2022

Here's how things look with just two games remaining for the London Spirit and Oval Invincibles.

The Invincibles have won three of their four matches in the Hundred this year and will be in the knockouts with a win today.

Victory would also keep alive their slim chances of advancing straight to the final and avoiding the eliminator.

The London Spirit must win to keep their hopes of advancing alive. They need victories in their last two matches, as well as other results going their way, to reach the eliminator.
