The action continues tomorrow morning and what a game it should be - Australia v England at the MCG and the loser is likely heading out of the tournament.

England are planning to make any changes despite their own shock defeat to Ireland yesterday - join us tomorrow for that one. Until then, goodbye!

Player of the match Sikandar Raza: "I'm lost for words. My thoughts are dry and I think that is because of all my emotions. I just can't tell you how proud I am of this group of boys. The way the seamers started at the top was unbelievable and the way we backed it up in the field and just kept believing, I don't think there are any words that I can share right now.

"This morning I got a small clip from Ricky Ponting having a small word. I was excited, nervous and thrilled about today and the motivation was always there but if I needed a little push then the clip did it so thank you to Ricky as well."

  5. 'It's so special'published at 16:00 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

Zimbabwe captain Craig Ervine: "It's so special, especially after the work we did to get into the Super 12s. We didn't want our tournament to end there, we wanted to come in and play some really good cricket against some top teams and I think we did that exceptionally well today.

"After our batting performance, we thought we were 20-25 runs short. But our seamers hit their straps early on and there was just a little bit more in the wicket. Raza came to the party as he always does and took some important wickets in the middle.

"I also want to say thanks to the Zimbabwe support who came out today, you guys lift our spirits wherever we go. So, special thanks."

  6. 'When push came to shove and pressure came we let it slip'published at 15:57 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

Pakistan batter Shan Masood to BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra: "We are very disappointed. I don't think we're a batting unit that can't achieve a target of 130. We had the game in our hands, only being two down in the 13th over and the run-rate went below seven when Shadab Khan hit that six and we just had to finish the game off. It's very disappointing that when push came to shove a little bit and pressure came on that we let it slip. It is very disappointing in the context of the game and tournament.

"We have to give credit to Zimbabwe, they came out of the blocks quickly. It is not easy facing the quality of bowling that we have, we have seen many teams take their time. They were positive and they didn't look to hit the ball too hard - they caressed it and timed it and the ball flew off the bat initially. Once you've got that start, however bad you play, you still get to a score that you can fight for."

  7. 'Batting wasn't up to the mark'published at 15:54 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

Pakistan captain Babar Azam: "Definitely, we'd have taken chasing 130 but it was a very disappointing performance from my team. We were not up to the mark with the batting.

"Yes, me and Rizwan take some responsibility but we lost another wicket early. Shadab and Shan built a partnership but then when Shadab got one, we lost back-to-back wickets and the pressure started to build."

On the bowling: "We didn't use the new ball as well as we'd have liked but we fought back well. But I still think we let Zimbabwe get 10 runs more than we should have done."

On rest of the tournament: "Of course, we'll stick together and hard work ahead of the next match."

You could see Zimbabwe's intent with the bat. Their running between the wickets was sharp, they wanted to be in the contest and they wanted to drive the game where they could.

They only got 130 runs but the way they came out with the ball was impressive. The channel and the line they bowled was impeccable and that made it really hard for Pakistan to score.

    It is a great night.

Pakistan paid for their slow start....

The worm shows Pakistan are one run behind Zimbabwe. Pakistan are 129 for 8 after 19.4 overs. At the same stage Zimbabwe were 130 for 8.

Pakistan will be looking at themselves and saying 'hang on, did we take it too easy or did we just get outplayed?'

Pakistan will feel like they have let one slip there and having lost both of their first two games now makes it a very tough ask for them to reach the semi-final stage.

It is special. Your wins at international level, against powerhouse likes Pakistan, aren't very often.

You've got to make the most of it so hopefully the boys will celebrate hard and enjoy it but it will also bring the confidence up for the next game.

It takes me back to the 1999 World Cup when we managed to win a couple of games and get through and the elation for the nation was amazing. It is just wonderful to see the supporters ecstatic.

This will help to bring younger guys through because they are able to see these guys on the TV and it will give them belief that they can go through the grassroots system and be one of the guys playing cricket on TV around the world.

There were so many huge moments during that Pakistan chase but perhaps the most crucial was the wicket of Shan Masood.

The left-hander looked set to anchor the innings and get Pakistan over the line but when he was stumped off a leg-side wide off Sikandar Raza, the game was blown wide open...

This is amazing cricket and it is what World Cups can bring. It is drama and it is exciting.

  16. 'The bowlers came to the party'published at 15:44 British Summer Time 27 October 2022

Zimabwe all-rounder Sean Williams on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra: "We wanted to stop the twos as often as possible, which can be hard on this ground because the outfield is so big, but we knew if we hit the right lengths - top of the stumps and around the belly button - it can be hard to score. We spoke about that before the game and it worked really well.

"We felt that we were 30 runs short on this total and we needed to get more, but the collapse came and luckily the bowlers came to the party.

"In the interval we just spoke about staying calm in the first 10 overs and we knew that would win us the game.

"I can't put it into any words because there are still quite a few games ahead of us so we take each day as it comes. It is fantastic to beat the top teams but there is plenty of learning and growing for the young guys to do.

"It is massive. These guys [the fans] have come from far and wide to watch us and for us to beat Pakistan in Australia, on a quick bouncy wicket, is fantastic. I have no words."
